ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is National Teachers Day which is a day for honoring teachers and recognizing the lasting contributions they make to our children. Everybody who does something good, important, and valuable deserves a day in their honor. Teachers certainly are among the most deserving. This day honors those hard working, patient and understanding people whom we entrust our children to. Teachers mold our kids in a positive direction, affecting who they are and who they become. From Preschool through college, teachers are an important part of our children's lives.
So let's give 'em their due. If you happen to be a teacher reading this, I personally offer my thanks,. The future of our world is in your hands.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
A good teacher is never done … always trying to reinvent, improve and inspire.
David Carlson
There are plenty of teachers in our family and there have been quite a few in the past too. My maternal grandmother was a teacher. My middle sister was a teacher. One of my sons is a teacher and so are 2 of my DIL’s and another is a teacher’s aide. I have a cousin that was a teacher and also a few of my friends.
I know enough about what they do and have done in order to do their jobs and know that it takes a very special person to be one.
It’s to be another sunny day here. We had frost warnings overnight so it got quite cold. I know we were warmer last month than we are so far this month. I’m looking forward to using my patio room, but right now it’s too cold and it’s not heated. That is what the pictures are of today.
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
Today is National Butterscotch Brownie Day! Butterscotch brownies, also known as “blondies,” are delicious baked goodies that date back to the 19th century. Recipes for these soft, chewy bars most likely evolved from Medieval gingerbread cake recipes. In fact, butterscotch brownies were around for almost a hundred years before chocolate brownies became popular!
To make butterscotch brownies, you need flour, baking powder, salt, butter, brown sugar, vanilla extract, eggs, and butterscotch. Popular add in ingredients include walnuts, pecans, butterscotch pieces, chocolate chips, Nutella, banana, or cranberries. You can also choose to add a topping like chocolate Irish cream frosting or drizzled caramel. Yum!
BUTTERSCOTCH BROWNIES
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. butter
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. orange extract
2 c. flour

Pour batter into greased 9 by 12 by 2 inch baking pan. Bake in oven 35to 45 minutes. Cool before cutting.

may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
You can pay people to teach, but you can't pay them to care.
Marva Collins
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

I hope you get to use your patio room soon. There is a teacher shortage here in Arizona. Sadly they are not paid well and many leave the state to teach elsewhere. A good teacher is worth their weight in gold. Such a vital service they provide.
