ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Pack Rat Day which reminds us to take a serious look around our homes, no matter how fastidious we are with our items, and determine how much of it really needs to go and try to thin out the nonessentials.
Its really easy to let things pile up. After all, each item you acquire along the road of life may have value or serve some meaningful purpose.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
A place for everything and everything in its place.
Old Saying
After downsizing in order to move to a smaller home, I no longer have much of anything here at my house that isn’t essential. I used to have plenty of storage space to keep things but now storage is very limited. It wasn’t easy to let go of all the things I’d saved over the years, but it’s done and I’m thankful for it.
Yesterday was very summer like here and I was able to get the yard work done out side. They say today our temps will be close to 90 degrees which is really warm for us. I may have to turn on the a/c which is usually unheard of this time of year. But by Friday we’ll cool down a bit and return to more normal temps.
I remember years that it was late June before it really warmed up, but one thing about the weather is that we can’t control it. As with most things in life we just have to make the most of what we get.
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s National Cherry Cobbler Day!
Cherry cobbler is a baked dessert made with a rich fruit filling and a biscuit dough crust. Back in the 19th century, pioneers of the American West had to adapt many recipes because of a severe lack of ingredients. The traditional pie evolved into the cobbler, which was often served as the main dish of the meal!
CHERRY DUMP COBBLER
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
32 ounces cherry pie filling
1/2 cup butter
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Melt butter in a 13 by 9 inch pan. Mix flour, baking powder, salt, milk, and sugar in mixing bowl. Pour into pan. Add the cherry pie filling to the batter in the pan and spread evenly. Bake for 45 minutes to an hour. Batter will form crust on top of cobbler. Serves 8.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Happiness is a place between too little and too much.
Finnish proverb
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
4897. for a simpler life
4898. for central air conditioning
4899. for cherries, good and good for you too
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.

A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

Love that quote from William Morris, English of course!
We are having cooler than normal days here . The change is nice before the summer heat arrives. Not a pack rat here. Time to sort out again and see what we don't need.

I, too, love the quote from William Morris. I am in the process of down-sizing as you know. Ohh, it is such a hard process. I am sure that if someone just went in without me knowing and took everything away, I would not miss any of it, but having to look at it myself and decide what to keep, what to throw, what to give is such a painful process! lol I have been far too much of a pack rat! Love, LOVE Cherry Cobbler! I am bookmarking your recipe! Thanks for all that you share. Love, hugs and blessings to you! xoxo
