ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is Memo Day which celebrates all forms of memos. They serve to aid memory by putting notification of events and observations in written communication. Originally this was done with hand written communication, and then developed with mechanical writing forms like the printing press, typewriter, and printer, and now into the digital age with email.
Every day our lives are affected in countless ways by memos. Whether you get a raise, a particular product gets developed, or that zoning request goes through could all be determined by the humble memo
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Note to self: Live as if you matter
Communication is very important, especially when it comes to keeping people informed. I know that I remember things better if I write them down and often write little notes to myself so I don’t forget something. I used to use post it notes, now I use my computer.
After partying on Saturday to celebrate a birthday, I’m ready for some rest and relaxation today. The only thing I’ve planned for today is going to church and otherwise it looks to be a pretty quiet day here. I’ve some leftovers in the fridge so I really don’t even need to cook.
We are to have some showers come our way today so there’s not much I can even do outside. After so many busy days in the past few months, it feels good just to relax.
All my little flowers have been replanted and doing fine so far. Setting them up higher off the ground seems to be working. : )
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
Today is National Strawberries and Cream Day! The simple combination of fresh sliced strawberries and homemade whipped cream has been a popular dish for centuries. In fact, in medieval England it was customary for newlyweds to enjoy strawberries and soured cream for their wedding breakfast.
The strawberry is the first fruit to ripen every spring and each refreshing bite contains high levels of Vitamin C, fiber, folic acid, and potassium.
May is also National Strawberry Month
The picture above is of the fruit salad I made for yesterday’s party. There was no cream on the strawberries. They were mixed with grapes, watermelon, blueberries and pineapple. But I found a recipe to share today.
Strawberries and Cream
1/2 c. sour cream
2 Tbsp. sugar
4 cups sliced strawberries
3/4 c. thawed Cool Whip topping
Combine sour cream and sugar in medium bowl. Add strawberries and toss slightly
Spoon 1/2 cup of strawberry mixture into dessert dishes
Top each with 2 Tbsp. whipped topping
Makes 6 servings
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Note to self: Gratitude turns what we have into enough
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
4909. for a day of rest
4910. for strawberries, which are good with whipped cream
4911. for my computer, what would I do without it
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
