ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is Sun Screen Day which educates and brings awareness to the importance of using sunscreen to protect yourself and your children from harmful UV rays from the sun. This day is held on May 27th, just in advance of the summer and vacation season.
Ultraviolet rays from the sun is a serious risk to your health. With the steady depletion of the ozone layer above the earth, more and stronger UV rays get through.
Overexposure to the sun can cause a number of health problems. It can cause skin cancer, and sunspots. It can also result in premature aging of your skin.
Doctors and medical professionals advocate the use of sunscreen, to guard against health problems. They recommend an Skin Protection factor of 15 or more. Sunscreens should be used for all outdoor activities, including swimming.
And yes, sun screens should be used on cloudy days. UV rays can penetrate through the clouds.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Some days you just have to create your own sunshine...
I have an app on my phone that shows the UV Index each day and yesterday morning when I look it said, 1 LOW. That’s how it’s been for days on end here it seems. No worry about over exposure here for sure. More than not we worry about under exposure. Ha !
It seems a bit of over exposure having NO Fry Friday and Sun Screen Day back to back, but they are both good in that they remind us that, like all things in life, moderation is a good thing.
Finding the balance is the trick…not enough, too much, just right…
I’m on a mission today to find something to set my flower boxes on out in the car port. I’ve had them set up to prevent the critters around here from eating them. I’ve got 3 garden centers close by and another not so far away so I’m going exploring to see what I can find. It’ll be fun just looking around anyway. With another mostly cloudy day in the forecast…looking at blooming flowers will be a way to brighten the day.
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday!
♥ ¸¸.•*¨*So let the sun shine in, face it with a grin. Smilers never lose and frowners never win. So let the sun shine in, face it with a grin. Open up your heart and let the sun shine in.♥ ¸¸.•*¨*•♫♪
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s National Grape Popsicle Day.
Popsicles originally came in seven flavors thought to be root beer, cherry, lemon, orange, banana, grape, and watermelon. Grape has always been a favorite for me.
Little did I realize that grapes freeze well and that you can make your own bite size grape popsicles. By using any sweet grape, you can freeze a stash for a hot day.
Wash your grapes well and allow them to drain dry. Place dry grapes on a cookie sheet in a single layer. Place the cookie sheet in the freezer. In an hour or more transfer the grapes to a plastic freezer bag or other freezer storage container. Remove your grape popsicles from the freezer as you need them. They will defrost quickly on a hot day.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Rain now, more flowers later…
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
4927. for flowers that brighten the day
4928. for grapes, good and good for you
4929. for a new coffee flavor, Summer Sunrise, it’s a seasonal treat
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY

My DIL is religious about covering both her head and neck anytime she works out of doors ... and, unlike me, in her late 40's has a beautiful creamy complexion.
My mother used to freeze her grapes on cookie sheets, lightly dusted with confectioner's sugar!
My husband's all-time favorite flavors of popsicles are root beer and also banana. I haven't bought any in awhile. I probably should. Thanks for the reminder. :)

I have never been a Sun Bather Pam! I have always preferred the shade and as a result I don't have a lot of sun damage, thank goodness! We never wore sun cream when I was growing up. Nobody thought anything of it. Even my make-up has sun screen in it today! Which is a good thing. I miss popsicles. There is no such thing here! What I always loved about them was that you could have half and share the other half with someone else. I liked the lemon ones! Thanks so much for all that you share! xoxo
