ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Don't Fry Friday which is a very important day for you and your skin. It occurs just as the Memorial holiday begins, and at the start of summer. At this time, sunshine is the most intense. People are seeking the sunshine and the great outdoors after a long winter. The purpose of today, is to educate people, and to make them aware of the dangers of overexposure to UVA and UVB rays. These UV rays come from the sun, and from popular tanning booths. They are the primary cause of skin cancer.
A little sunshine is good for you. It provides important vitamin D, and sunshine brightens your mood. It's over exposure that damages your skin.
To have a safe and happy summer, follow the motto for skin cancer prevention: Slip, Slop, Slap, and Wrap. This means slip on a shirt, slop on the suntan lotion, slap on a hat, and wrap on the sunglasses. Yes, UV rays can damage your eyes, too. In addition, it is recommended that people stay out of the sun during midday of summer, when these harmful UV rays are the most intense.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Change, like sunshine, can be a friend or a foe, a blessing or a curse, a dawn or a dusk.
William Arthur Ward
I am very happy that it’s almost summer and I for one will slip on the sunglasses and wrap up with a straw hat on my head. The sunshine is great but it’s wise to be protected.
We’ve had more than our fair share of rainy and cloudy days so far this Spring and we all are looking forward to sunny days. I have taken to adding a Vitamin D supplement to my daily vitamins. We just don’t get enough of it from the sun.
I’ve got the weekly chores all done here at my house and all my errands are run so today I’m going to mix up a few things like macaroni salad and a cake for the weekend ahead. As always there a couple of ripe bananas to use up.
There are not many pictures of sunny days on my computer so I’m once again showing pictures of my trip to the beach on the shores of Lake Erie.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!

COUNTING MY GIFTS
Thank God every morning when you get up that you have something to do that day, which must be done, whether you like it or not.
James Russell Lowell
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
4924. for sunglass and straw hats
4925. for blueberries, good and good for you
4926. for a nice long 3 day weekend coming our way
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
The world goes up and the world goes down, the sunshine follows the rain; and yesterday's sneer and yesterday's frown can never come over again.
Charles Kingsley
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma

The gardners across the street from me know about sun protection. They wear long sleeves and pants year round and big floppy hats. They get tons of vitamin D for sure. It is always good to go outside protected from the sun.
