ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is National Sibling Day which is a day to appreciate and cherish your brothers and sisters. Siblings are truly a special blessing that we probably all too often take for granted. They are often our best friends and supporters through life. Another reason to celebrate is that not everyone is lucky enough to have siblings. Their lives are significantly different growing up, and throughout life.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
To the outside world we all grow old. But not to brothers and sisters. We know each other as we always
were. We know each other’s hearts. We share private family jokes. We remember family feuds and secrets, family griefs and joys. We live outside the touch of time.

I am the oldest of three girls in our family and feel so blessed to still have a sister in my life and have to say she is always there for me. I lost my other sister this past winter and miss her everyday. As I’m the oldest, these two have always been a part of my life and I’m thankful for them.
We’re to have a nice start to the day here at my house with warm temps but they say there is a chance of thunder storms later on. We were just beginning to dry out here a bit but that’s not going to last long.
There is nothing much we can do about the weather though except take it as it comes. Like life, we just keep doing the best we can with each day that comes our way and be thankful for it.
The pictures today are not of my sisters but from our visit with DS#1 on Saturday. It was very encouraging to see how well he is doing.
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s National Cinnamon Croissant Day! People have been making delicious croissant pastries since the 13th century, but cinnamon has been around for much longer. The first record of the spice appears in a Chinese manuscript dating back to 2800 BC!
Fortunately there is a package of crescent rolls in the fridge so I can make these today.
Crescent Roll Cinnamon Rolls
1, 8 ounce package refrigerated crescent rolls
1 tablespoon butter, melted
2tablespoons granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
1 to 2 teaspoons orange juice or milk
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease an 8 by 1 1/2 inch or 9 by 1 1/2 inch round baking pan; set aside. Unroll dough, do not separate, press perforations to seal. Brush dough with melted butter. In a small bowl, stir together the granulated sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over dough. Starting from a long side, roll up dough. Using a sharp knife, slice dough into 1 1/2 inch pieces. Arrange pieces, cut side up, in prepared pan, flattening each roll slightly.
Bake for 15 to 18 minutes or until golden. Remove and cool rolls slightly in pan on a wire rack. Remove from pan. In a small bowl, stir together powdered sugar, vanilla, and enough orange juice or milk to make an icing of drizzling consistency. Drizzle over warm rolls. Serve warm.
COUNTING MY GIFTS

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Your son looks great, Ma, praying for a full recovery! Glad you got to see him. Siblings are great to have indeed. Sadly, my hubby's brother and wife are in town for a few days as her sister is near the end of her life. Hubby and brother got to see each other, but too bad it was under those conditions.

Yes, your son looks like he's in great spirits. Yeay!
I always wanted a brother or sister, but it just wasn't in the cards. DH and his sis were never close growing up, but have evolved into a wonderful support system for one another - even thousands of miles apart!
Your son is looking great Pam and so happy! You must be feeling pretty good about that yourself. I am continuing my prayers. I love my brother and sister so very much. They are a great blessing in my life, as far aways as we live from each other. Your recipe today looks really good! Yum!! xoxo
