ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is Hug a Plumber Day which honors those unsung heros that bring us the warmth and comfort of life as we know it. Every day they work to ensure that you have water flowing to your home, that your toilet flushes, and that your clothes can both be washed, and take away the dirt that had soiled them.
Hug A Plumber Day is a great time to remember these heroes and the efforts they put forth each and every day.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
True heroism is remarkably sober, very undramatic. It is not the urge to surpass all others at whatever cost, but the urge to serve others, at whatever cost.
Arthur Ashe
Here at my house I’ve reason to thank a plumber. Shortly after I moved in I was notified that I had a water leak. It took awhile but apparently it has been fixed. I got my first water bill for the new house and it was normal according to what they said it would be.
We often forget those unsung heroes that keep our lives comfortable. Having the modern utilities we have now we are quite spoiled as far as utilities of water, heat and electricity we have. I remember a time when not everyone had them. I guess I must be getting old. Ha !
When I was a young child, my grandmother used to have to draw water from a well. She heated her iron on the stove and had no electricity. It certainly was a different time. Now, living like that is unheard of.
It looks like a nice Spring day is ahead of us here with temps in the 70’s and maybe a few showers. The pictures today are more of our family Easter, there were a lot of good ones to share .
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s National Zucchini Bread Day!
I found a recipe for Zucchini bread with the twist of the salted caramel version, it will surely become a favorite way to enjoy your zucchini!
Salted Caramel Zucchini Bread
Makes 2 loaves
3 eggs, separated
1 cup coconut oil or butter, melted
11/2 cups sugar
1/4 cup salted caramel sauce
2 cups grated, unpeeled zucchini, about 2 medium zucchini
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup pecans, chopped, optional
1/2 cup salted caramel sauce, for topping, optional
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Prepare two loaf pans with butter or shortening and lightly flouring. Set aside.
Beat egg whites with an electric mixer until stiff, set aside.
Add oil, sugar, caramel sauce, zucchini, vanilla to egg yolks in large mixing bowl and beat until well combined.
Add flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder to mixing bowl. Beat well. Add pecans if using and combine. Fold in egg whites.
Bake for about 1 hour or until toothpick comes out clean when inserted into the center. Allow zucchini bread to cool in the pans for about five minutes before turning out onto a serving tray. Pour additional caramel sauce over bread, if you choose to do so.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
The world is moved along, not only by the mighty shoves of its heroes, but also by the aggregate of tiny pushes of each honest worker.
Helen Keller
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
4831. for unsung heroes like plumbers
4832. for pleasant Spring weather
4833. for Zucchini, good and good for you too
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
The world's battlefields have been in the heart chiefly; more heroism has been displayed in the household and the closet, than on the most memorable battlefields in history.
Henry Ward Beecher
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

A good plumber is worth their weight in gold. Thankfully one was recommended to us when we moved down here. Have used him several times, never disappointed in his work.

Aw! :)
I'd like to share "Love a Plumber Day" out on my Facebook page, to honor a former love/FB friend ... except it's already Saturday "across the pond."
That caramel twist on zucchini bread sounds wonderful!
Oh how I love a plumber. I wish I knew one who didn't charge so much. LOL! I need an outdoor faucet put in and I've been putting off making the call. I have missed reading your blog. It is so uplifting. And we all need it!!
