77 DAYS UNTIL FALL
Sunrise: 6:02 am
Sunset: 9:04 pm
Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Tell the Truth Day. Imagine a world where nobody lies, says anything misleading, or does anything dishonest. Tell The Truth Day aims to achieve this for just one day and presumably to allow people the rest of the year to get over insult, hurt and the result of truths which perhaps should have remained unsaid! Sometimes the truth can hurt.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
If you tell the truth you don't have to remember anything.
Mark Twain
If what you say is the truth then truly you won’t have to remember if you lied about it or not. I hear a lot of half truths these days. Part of what is said is true, but the other half is often left unsaid. No one ever wants to hurt anyone else, but I’d rather hear the whole truth than a half truth.
We can’t build relationships if we mistrust what friends say; we won’t follow leaders if we mistrust what they do; and we can’t make good decisions if we doubt the accuracy of the information that we receive.
Truth be told, as much as I love summertime, this heat and humidity here this week is taking a toll on me. My get up and go has gone and lazy summer days are here. I don’t do a lot on any day but these days I’m doing less.
Keep Cool Everyone!
I hope you all have a GREAT day! Happy Thursday !
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s National Strawberry Sundae Day.
We all love cooling down with a cold, fruity treat on a hot day and Strawberry Sundae Day honors a dessert loved by millions around the world. Created with sweet toothed people in mind, Strawberry Sundae Day is the perfect excuse to sit in the garden and cool down with a delicious delicacy.
Having fresh strawberries on your ice cream is a treat but that is not always possible so for those days I simply put a little strawberry jam or jelly on top of my ice cream. It’s pretty tasty too.
Here’s a recipe just in case you’d like to make your own Strawberry Sundae Sauce
2 pounds Strawberries, Hulled
1 cup Sugar
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1/2 whole Lemon, Juiced
A Couple Drops Red Food Coloring ,optional
Place all the ingredients in a medium saucepan over medium high heat. Bring to a gently boil, stirring constantly, and allow the strawberries to cook for a good 5 minutes, or until the strawberries are very soft. Turn off the heat and use a potato masher to completely mash them. Pour the mixture into a fine mesh strainer placed over a bowl. Use a spoon to stir the fruit so the liquid is forced through. Continue until most all of the liquid is in the bowl. Set the pulp aside in case you want to add some of it back to the finished sauce.
Skim as much foam off the sauce as you can. Pour the skimmed sauce back into the same saucepan and boil again for 3 minutes over medium high heat. Skim any more foam that has formed on the surface, then allow the sauce to cool slightly before pouring it into a pitcher or jar. Add a little of the pulp back into the sauce if you like the texture, or just leave it plain.
Serve warm over vanilla ice cream, or refrigerate it to thicken and serve it cold. Makes 12 servings
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Truth is such a rare thing, it is delightful to tell it.
Emily Dickinson
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
4018. for truth, the best policy
4019. for ice cream, always good on a hot day
4020. for strawberry jam, it’s a tasty treat
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !

A strawberry sundae would be so refreshing today :) That recipe for the syrup for one sounds yummy :)
It is always good to tell the truth. I think we can do it lovingly and kindly not to hurt people's feelings, but it is always better to do so; it does indeed help build up trust among others.
