Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is Don’t Step On A Bee Day which is an important reminder that the fate of the common bee lies in the balance. With bee numbers in some countries having halved in the last decade with no apparent cause, it’s vital that we take care to maintain bee populations, pollination and honey production. Celebrate this fun holiday by taking a moment to watch the bees busy at work in your garden
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side

I do love honey and certainly wouldn’t step on any bees. It is important to remember that bees are essential for the pollination of many plants that are vital not only to our diet but to a number of other animals’ as well. Bears, birds, mice, squirrels and other creatures are dependent on the nuts and seeds that result from pollination.
It’s looking like a quiet Sunday here at my house with plenty of that good R & R going on.
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday !
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
Today is Pina Colada Day
Pina Colada Trifle
1 box white cake mix and necessary ingredients
2 boxes coconut cream pudding, 4 1/2 cup servings each
4 cups milk
1 box pineapple Jello
1 container cool whip
1 can pineapple chunks or rings
Prepare cake as directed on the box and pudding as directed using 4 cups milk. Cool the cake 15 minutes, then poke holes every 1/2 inch.
Mix 1 cup boiling water and 1/2 cup cold pineapple juice with the Jello. Immediately pour the Jello mixture over the cake, filling the holes with Jello. Refrigerate 3 hours or overnight.
Drain the juice from a canned of pineapple, set aside. Strain the pineapples to get all the excess juice out. Set aside a few pieces to put on top of the trifle, dump the rest in a bowl and mash. Drain juice, cover the pineapples and leave in the fridge until needed.
Cut the cake into small squares and layer on the bottom of the trifle dish. Cover with about half the pineapple, a layer of pudding, then a layer of cool whip . Repeat until the dish is full. Top with pineapple and serve chilled.

Bees indeed are so important for so much in our world. I too enjoy honey. I also admire beekeepers who will go and remove hives and relocate them, dangerous work I think. I hope you have a nice relaxful day!

I realize they're necessary, but gosh the bees frighten me.
Here in Arizona we have to be vigilant for random attacks by swarms of bees. Seems every year there's news about folks having to be rushed to the hospital; not that long ago they brought down and killed a horse. So sad!
Oh, goodness... I was doing chores at the National Agricultural Center this morning and I saw bees all over the clover where I was walking... I hope they all make it through the summer! We have active beehives there, and by the number of bees working, I can believe they are healthy!
Bees are so important to us Pam. I could never harm a bee on purpose. We need them so very much. I love honey and am always amazed at how many different kinds there are! My ex and boys once took care of hives. It was a fascinating occupation! God bless you for all that you share! xoxo
