64 DAYS UNTIL FALL
Sunrise: 6:12 am
Sunset: 8:56 pm
Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Lollipop Day which allows us to celebrate and enjoy the creation of Lollipops. Could you imagine how sheltered our childhood, and perhaps adulthood, would be, if the lollipop had never been invented!? It sure would be a duller, and less tasteful world.
Share a lollipop with friends, family, coworkers, or strangers. Enjoy Lollipop Day responsibly. Don’t go too overboard on the sugary treats, and remember to brush your teeth!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
On the good ship Lollipop It's a sweet trip to a candy shop. Where bonbons play. On the sandy beach in Peppermint Bay
Sidney Clare
It’s a very sweet treat kind of day here at my house. Everything is looking rosy. Not a lot new going on but on the bright side everything is looking good.
This full moon is a bright one and I can see it in the south eastern sky shining before I go to bed each night. This is supposed to be a beautiful sunny day in the mid 80’s. The end of this week is going to be a scorcher for us they say so I’m sure I’ll be mostly staying in and keeping cool. Hope you will too. Don’t forget to drink plenty of that good H2o to keep hydrated. It’s especially important in the heat!
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday !
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
International Cake Day
International Cake Day was started as a way to promote worldwide peace and unity.
There’s nothing much international about this recipe but since fresh peaches are in season I found this poundcake recipe to share.
Fresh Peach Pound Cake
1 cup butter, softened
3 cups sugar
6 eggs, at room temperature
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon almond extract
3 cups flour, all purpose
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup sour cream
2 cups peaches, peeled and chopped
Grease and flour a 10 inch tube pan. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in extracts.
In small bowl, combine dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Fold in sour cream and chopped peaches.
Spoon batter into prepared pan. Bake for 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours or until a wooden pick comes out clean. Cut into thin slices to serve.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Candy is childhood, the best and bright moments you wish could have lasted forever.
Dylan Lauren
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
4057. for lollipops, a sweet surgery treat
4058. for peaches, very good and good for you
4059. for those who aim for peace in our world
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !

That peach pound cake looked good. I remember eating a lot of lollipops growing up. Always delicious and so many different flavors!

I loved looking at the moon last night. My front yard was so lit by it that I could see the shadows of the trees on the ground. Very peaceful looking!!
