Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is Disneyland Day which celebrates the day it opened on July 17, 1955. The $17 million theme park was built on 160 acres of former orange groves in Anaheim, California, and soon brought in staggering profits. Today, Disneyland hosts more than 14 million visitors a year, who spend close to $3 billion
Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams, and the hard facts that have created America, with the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to the world.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
It's kind of fun to do the impossible.
Walt Disney
Clearly there is a lot to learn from Walt Disney. Life lessons learned about hard work, doing your best, and making your work uniquely yours are just a few.
Keep Things in Perspective. Your family is your first business, and they should never be neglected in pursuit of a dream. Your family must be part of your dream, and should remain within your focus
Competition makes you stronger, it makes you better, it keeps you on your toes. Never shrink away from competition; never fail to see the value of competition. Your competitors can provide you with more value than your friends. Learn from the competition, and you will grow.
Walt Disney said, If you can dream it, you can do it. Life is too short to spend it doing the possible. Learn to pursue the impossible, pursue what others say can’t be done, pursue what has never been done before, pursue your dreams, and turn them into a reality.
Everyday you should become a little better than you were the day before. If you can become one percent better daily, you can recreate your life every 100 days. Learn to get better daily; look for ways to improve, to be kinder, more intelligent, and more helpful.
Disney teaches us that friends don't just make your life bearable, they make it enjoyable,
Never Stop Dreaming!
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday !
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
Today is National Ice Cream Day which celebrates one of summer's favorite snacks. July is also Ice Cream Month and I’ve already shared some recipes for ice cream sodas and sundaes too.
Today I’m sharing one of my favorites.
FROZEN BANANA SPLIT DESSERT
2 c. graham crackers, crushed
1/3 c. butter, melted
2 to 3 bananas
2 qts. ice cream
1 c. nuts, chopped
1 c. chocolate chips
1/2 c. butter
2 c. confectioners' sugar
1 1/2 c. evaporated milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 pt. whipped cream
1 c. graham crackers, crushed
Prepare graham cracker crust by pouring 1/3 cup melted butter over 2 cups graham crackers. Mix well. Spoon this crust into bottom of 9 x 13 pan. Press down with spoon. Slice bananas and lay over crust. Slice ice cream 1/2 inch thick and lay on top of bananas. Sprinkle nuts over ice cream. Freeze until firm. Melt chocolate chips and 1/2 cup butter over low heat. Add cup confectioners' sugar and evaporated milk to chocolate mixture. Cook until thickened, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Cool slightly, not too long or it will become stiff. Pour over ice cream. Freeze until ready to serve. Before serving spread whipped topping over top. Sprinkle 1 cup graham cracker crumbs over all.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them
Walt Disney
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
4048. for Disney wisdom
4049. for desserts made with ice cream
4050. for dreams that come true
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
When you believe a thing, believe in it all the way.

A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

Walt Disney sure came up with a great idea with Disneyland, course nowadays it is really expensive to visit, but I do like his wisdom and concept. Always fun to enjoy ice cream during the summer months.

Walt Disney was, indeed, a visionary. Truly, I grew weary of going to Disney(World) while living in Florida and (for a while) having free admission.
The concept's great, yes; but I think they've out-priced themselves for the common Joe and Jane Doe.
I visited Disneyland in California when my boys were very small. The youngest wasn't quite 3 and he has no memory of having been there. It is some place everyone should visit at least once in their lifetime. We were blessed with a trip to Walt Disney World in Florida a few years ago. The spring before Richard's downhill health problems. A very generous family from our church anonymously donated the trip to us and our two grandkids that live here. Was a trip we will never forget. God Bless Walt Disney!! And I am so mad. We totally forgot ice cream day. Both the kiddos have retired for the night or we would jump in the car and go for ice cream!!
