Today is National Sugar Cookie Day. It’s is a day to satisfy your sweet tooth. Popular with young kids, and old kids, sugar cookies usually don't last long around the house. It's pretty easy to see how Sugar cookies came to get their own special day. Almost everyone has had them. Many people are hooked on them. Put out a plate of sugar cookies, and you can be certain they won't be there for long.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Cookies are made of butter and love.
Norwegian Proverb
It’s been hot and humid here and the one thing I definitely don’t want to do is to turn on the oven. Cookie baking here at my house will come when it cools down. They say today might be one of the nicer days of the week with temps in the upper 70’s. It will be nice to have a short break from the upper 80’s and low 90’s. It won’t last long at all though as it looks like the coming week will pretty much be a repeat of this one.
I had my first fresh corn on the cob yesterday and also a fresh tomato. Very tasty for sure. I love this time of year when fresh fruits and veggies appear at the farmers markets. It’s worth the trip out to the country to get them.
The rain we’ve had the last couple of days has helped the grass grow and the flowers really appreciated a good watering too, Our Rose of Sharon bushes have started blooming and they are a delight that returns year after year. That’s what the pictures are of today.
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday !

ADVICE FOR TODAY
Think what a better world it would be if we all — the whole world — had cookies and milk about three o’clock every afternoon and then lay down with our blankies for a nap.

I love sugar cookies, especially the homemade ones. Yum too with the fresh veggies! Summer is definitely here!

I wish sugar cookies were low-carb! Your weather is kinda like ours, we had two good rains which helped a lot. I have zuchinni and cucumbers and still a few raspberries. I'm going to the country today, maybe I will see some Amish stands on the way there, fresh corn and tomatoes are on my wish list.
I sure liked my mom's sugar cookies ... but I LOVED the raw dough! :)
Weary of my 'filching' it behind her back, she finally resorted to making them after I had gone to sleep.
Fresh corn on the cob sounds so good! I need to Google something I saw last year on Pinterest where someone placed the ears in an insulated cooler, poured boiling water over it all, shut the top and let them 'cook' at leisure.
Sugar cookies are my favorite kind of cookie. Especially soft and warm from the oven!!
