Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
July 25th is a day associated with carnival music and children’s laughter as we annually celebrate National Merry Go Round Day. July 25 was chosen as the celebration day for National Merry Go Round Day as it coincides with the first United States patent that was issued for the modern carousel. That patent was awarded to William Schneider of Davenport Iowa on July 25, 1871.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Life is like a merry go round. It is full of ups and downs, sometimes you feel like you're just going in circles, but when the ride ends, you want to do it again!
My life is often like a merry go round ride and for the most part I’ve enjoyed it. The pictures today are of some of my grandchildren enjoying some carnival rides It seems everyone enjoys them. Round and round we go…life is a circle that never ends.
It’s hard to believe it’s the last full week of July already. It’s certainly been a hot one, but August is usually our hottest month so it’ll be interesting to see just what will come.
Today is also Christmas in July Day. For me it’s a reminder that I’d better get busy making Christmas gifts. It will take every bit of time between now and then to get it all done.
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday !
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It's National Hot Fudge Sundae Day!
Yes, it is another ice cream holiday. July has been full of them for sure!
Hot Fudge Sundae Ice Cream Pie
30 vanilla wafers
1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream
1 cup chocolate chips
2 cups miniature marshmallows
1 cup evaporated milk
1/8 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup chopped nuts, optional
8 Maraschino cherries, optional
Line 9 inch pie dish or pan with vanilla wafers.
Make sauce by heating the chips, marshmallows, and evaporated milk together until smooth. Stir in salt.
Scoop about 1/3 of the ice cream into the wafer lined dish, drizzle about 1/3 of the sauce on the ice cream. Scoop another 1/3 of the ice cream and drizzle 1/3 of sauce.
Scoop the remaining 1/3 of the ice cream and drizzle the remaining 1/3 of the sauce. Top with chopped nuts and/or Maraschino cherries if desired.
Cover with foil or plastic wrap. Freeze until solid, at least 6 hours. But it's best to freeze overnight. Remove from freezer about 20 minutes before serving to soften.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
4072. for merry go rounds, lots of fun
4073. for ice cream, so many ways to enjoy it
4074. for time to make Christmas gifts, homemade gifts are the best
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

I'm thinking a hot fudge sundae would be good for today :) Such cute pictures of your grandchildren enjoying rides; amusement parks are such fun! Hard to imagine 5 months from today will be Christmas!
