42 DAYS UNTIL SPRING

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Take Your Child To The Library Day. Take your child to the library and you will feed their imagination. A love of reading and books starts with pictures, stories and rhymes which even the youngest child can enjoy; and Take Your Child To The Library Day is a great excuse to swing by.
Whatever the age of your child, you will be given a warm welcome. Gone are the days when libraries were dreary silent places patrolled by grumpy staff. There are special areas for children with bright displays, easy to access books and comfortable seating. Nobody will expect your child to remain silent, so relax. Joining is a simple process and the staff are friendly and helpful.
Older children will enjoy using the computers, borrowing DVDs and finding interesting books on hobbies. The staff will even advise on books for homework assignments which is good news for any busy parent.
If you take your child to the library, expect to return frequently as it is a treasure trove for all ages. Priceless.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Books, to the reading child, are so much more than books--they are dreams and knowledge, they are a future, and a past.
Esther Meynell
I have a lot of fond memories of going to the local library with my children. We spent hours of fun there. Story time was always exciting and often they also offered a craft related to the story .
Reading is something I love to do but now that the age of digital books has come, I rarely hold a real one in my hand. I’ve managed to cut down on the clutter of having stacks of books everywhere throughout my house.
There are many different kinds of books and no matter what age you are, you can find one that suits your interests. and libraries are wonderful places to explore whether you are young or old. There is everything out there from Cook books to Zoos, and lots in-between.
I read about this useful tip this week and thought it was a good one so I’m sharing it today.
Sweet Solution: Ditch the Sugar Bowl
The traditional sugar bowl is an accident waiting to happen, prone to spills, wet spoons, and misplaced lids. Spare yourself a sweet mess: store sugar in a spare salt shaker, labeled to prevent surprises. A healthy bonus: when you shake, not spoon, you'll use less!
I’ve done this before with a mixture of cinnamon and sugar that I like to sprinkle on top of things, like applesauce or cottage cheese and I’ve also put powdered sugar in a shaker as the babes used to love to sprinkle it on top of french toast, but now I’m thinking that the sugar bowl will also be a thing of the past.
I learn a lot from reading and even though a lot of it is done on line, a trip to the library will never be a wasted one.
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday !
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Just the knowledge that a good book is awaiting one at the end of a long day makes that day happier.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU !

Our son was called the library baby because I carried him there so often when he was just an infant! (And of course, as he grew older and we visitied, I am sure he LOVED being called that by the women at the library! LOL)
Good idea about the sugar in the salt shaker...my Dad has Type 2 diabetes now and he has had some serious complications lately. We really need to think about all the sugar in our diet and hopefully, this won't develop as we grow older. xx
I loved the library when the kids were younger. We went to a lot of story times and they always enjoyed checking out books. A lot of the libraries had great summer activities also, which were fun to participate in.

Some of my fondest childhood memories involve mother taking me to the library!
