35 DAYS UNTIL SPRING
Sunrise: 7:28 am
Sunset: 6:00 pm
Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is Madly in Love with Me Day. It's a great day to celebrate everything that you don't hate about yourself. Conspicuously placed on the calendar, this is a day that makes literal the idea that you must love yourself before you can love another.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. You really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world.
Lucille Ball
I have always thought that if you want to be good for others, you first have to be good to yourself. If you are not getting enough rest and are tired and cranky, you can’t do your best. Making sure you take care of yourself is one way to insure that you will be able to take care of others.
The problem is that if we don’t love ourselves, this leads to problems: a lack of self confidence, insecurities and jealousies, self dislike, and unhappiness. If we allow this cycle of negativity to continue, we might behave in ways that push others away
When we love someone, we are kind to them. We respect them. We act with patience, compassion, and adoration. We encourage and support them. We don’t tear them down or speak negatively of them. We care about their needs. We believe they are valuable. The way we treat other people is a clear reflection of how we treat ourselves and we are, more times than not, harder on ourselves.
It’s sad but many people have very low self esteem and struggle with loving themselves. We need to remember we are all uniquely made, one of a kind, and are all very special. Pride like self esteem, is healthy when it includes others. The measure of pride remains the Great Commandment: to love others as self, not more, not less.
We have a little more snow on the ground this morning and it’s very cold. We’re to have a high of 14 degrees today and they say we’ll go below zero tonight. Take good care everyone and stay warm!
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday !
Make the most of yourself, for that is all there is of you.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Respect for ourselves guides our morals; respect for others guides our manners.
Laurence Sterne
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
3586. for sun glistening on the snow, it is beautiful
3587. for hot soup on a cold day
3588. for the uniqueness in each one of us
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.
Eleanor Roosevelt
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

"Everything you don't hate about yourself"? OK, that made me chuckle out-loud! What a splendid topic!
Seriously, I wish every young child believed this. My parents did the very best they knew how, but for whatever reason, I've always lacked self-confidence. Only a few years ago I quit snarling at my own reflection. LOL!
I hope you'll stay warm and have a wonderful day!
Beautiful entry!!! Happy Valentines!!!
Brrr with the weather! We had a pleasant 85 day down in Phoenix and I was thankful for the warmth; hope it warms up quickly for you guys.
I do agree we need to take care of ourselves first before we try to take care of others. They often recommend that on the airplanes; to get your oxygen mask on if needed rather than someone else's first.
