Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is Social Security Day. Wherever we are and whatever we do we’re a small part of a greater society and there’s no better indicator of our togetherness than a social security system, which is why we should celebrate Social Security Day.
Anyone can fall on hard times, or have a period during which a little help doesn’t go amiss, which is why these support systems exist. A good way to celebrate Social Security Day is to think about the more unfortunate members of society and do something for them.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe, call it a family. Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one.
Jane Howard
Having lived by myself for far too long, I do recognize the importance of having people in my life to socialize with. There is nothing that makes me feel quite as secure as my family or friends that are there for me when I need them.
People need people. We can’t get along in life well at all when we don’t have someone around to share things with. Truthfully, I’d not be much at all if it wasn’t for my family. They are my motivation when it comes to doing things.
I’ve never been what I would call a social person. I don’t belong to clubs or travel groups but it’s comforting to know that you have people you can turn to in a time of need. Family and friends give you a feeling of security.
My family just increased by two feet, Our little Darling, my newest grandchild, was born August 12th, at 3:41 pm and weighing in at 7lbs, 2oz. Congratulations to DS#3 and his wife !
After a few cooler days here this week, we are to return to temps in the mid 80’s. I know lots of people that are suffering temps in the 100’s so our 80’s probably sound wonderful to them. Here when the temps go above 80 I’m not very social at all and keep to myself. for the most part, indoors where it is cool.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday !
COUNTING MY GIFTS
There is nothing more important than a good, safe, secure home.
Rosalynn Carter
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
3034. for family and friends that motivate me to do more
3035. for a sink full of dirty dishes, it means I was cooking for someone besides myself
3036. for our Little Darling, born August 12th.
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !

What a beautiful child--so full of possibility! Although my family--except for cousins--have all predeceased me--I'm blessed to be part of a wonderful Franciscan family--my sisters in every way but birth!
Congrats to the family on the birth of Little Darling! So is adorable and certainly will be a darling indeed! It is good indeed to have people around us to experience life and love with!
