Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
August 6th is Wiggle Your Toes Day. This day encourages you to give your little piggy toes some exercise.
Those ten extremities at the ends of your feet, are crying out for a little freedom. Cramped up inside a pair of shoes or sneakers all day long, your toes just don't get the chance to move about freely, as they would like to do.
Celebrate Wiggle Your Toes Day by airing out your toes, and wiggling them around for all to see. The best place to wiggle your toes on a hot August day, is in the pool. Or, sit on a dock and stick your wiggly little toes in the water.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
I'll take the dream I had last night,
And put it in my freezer,
So someday long and far away,
When I'm an old grey greezer,
I'll take it out and thaw it out,
This lovely dream I've frozen,
And boil it up and sit me down
And dip my old cold toes in.
Shel Silverstein
One of my favorite places to wiggle my toes is in the sand at the beach. So far this year, there have been no beach sightings at all and that is a sad thing as it’s only about a half hour drive from my house to the shores of Lake Erie.
Of course there are plenty of days that my mind takes a trip to the beach. I can just imagine walking in the sand along the shoreline and looking out at the waves as the pound into the sand. It’s always a peace filled and happy moment in time for me.
Until we don’t have something, we cannot truly appreciate its importance. Our feet and are toes are something we should take good care of. DD found out just how important it really is to wear water shoes on the beach as this summer she managed to injure her foot by stepping on a skeleton of a sting ray barb and then having to have surgery to remove it. She’s still not fully recovered from that.
DSIL’s dad has had a rough time of it too since he took a fall and injured his leg. He had surgery to try and repair the veins in his leg but it proved unsuccessful. Regretfully today he will be having surgery to remove his leg from the knee down. Please join me in saying some prayers for him today.
I’m thankful that I still can wiggle my toes and I’m being much more cautious when it comes to where I put my feet. Please give a thought to where you put yours too. The beach pictures are from a couple of years ago.
I hope you all have a GREAT day. Happy Thursday !
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Think of the magic of that foot, comparatively small, upon which your whole weight rests. It’s a miracle, and the dance…is a celebration of that miracle.
Martha Washington
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
3010. for my feet and toes that still wiggle
3011. for the beach, my favorite place to be
3012. for walking, always good exercise
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !

Will say a prayer for a successful surgery. I do like to wiggle my goes in the summer months; pretty much wear flip flops around the house, but more confined shoes when I go out. So important to look out for our feet indeed!

I love to wiggle my toes in the sand on the beach but I have also learned to wear some kind of shoes on the beach....just too many things to step on.
Hope your day is restful and peaceful....those are the best kind. ;-)

I am thankful and I am thankful for my feet and my toes!
You don't realize how much you need your toes, until you hurt one of them, am I right?
Lovely post, as always! :-)
