Be an Angel Day is always celebrated August 22nd. Be an Angel Day encourages us to do acts of kindness, and to help others.

The objective of this day is to be like an angel, and do something good or kind for someone. It encourages us to be God's servant in doing good things for others. It is intended to do something nice or kind for someone who is in need of help. The type of angelic help you can offer is not defined or limited. It can be physical, emotional, or spiritual.

Be an Angel Day is for both the giver and the receiver. If you are the receiver, make certain to express openly your appreciation. And, recognize the angel in your life as being sent from God.

If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side

Kindness is the act or the state of being kind, being marked by good and charitable behavior, pleasant disposition, and concern and appreciation for others.  There are many people in my life that have been like angels to me over the years and I’m very thankful for all of them.  

 To be a sweet angel to your near and dear ones, compliment your loved ones who are loving and caring angels to you and make them feel special.

Angel food cake is one of my favorites for making quick desserts.  I don’t usually make my own, but buy them.  It’s so easy, especially this time of year, to slice up some fresh fruit and put it over a piece of angel food cakes and add a dollop of whipped cream on top !  Always light and refreshing.  

You can also make a quick and easy trifle by layering the cake with fruit and pudding with cool whip on top. Or make this Angel Fruit Dessert.

1 baked angel food cake

1 lg. pkg. instant vanilla pudding

1 (12 oz.) container Cool Whip

Fresh fruit: Strawberries, raspberries, peaches, kiwi, blueberries

Note: fruit can be switched around as the seasons dictate

Tear angel food cake into bite size pieces and place in a 9 x 13 inch cake pan. Prepare vanilla pudding per package directions; allow pudding to set. Add Cool Whip to pudding and mix. Pour pudding mixture over the cake. Arrange desired fresh fruits on top of pudding mixture. Refrigerate. 

I am so spoiled right now with the tastes and delights of fresh fruits and vegetables locally grown here that anything frozen or canned is not an option at all for me.  I’m trying savor the flavor of summer just as long as I can. The feathery clouds in some of the pictures today reminded me of angels wings.
