Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today marks National Bow Tie Day, a holiday to reflect on the simple elegance of the bow tie. A type of neck tie, the bow tie became a part of a fashionable man's wardrobe in the early 19th century. In the early days, the bow tie was specifically reserved for formal occasions. Black tie attire became a term synonymous with tuxedos worn with black bow ties.
If you have never worn a bow tie before, today is the day to so and pay tribute to those that honor the timeless style of the bow tie on this special day of celebration.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Keep calm and get your bow on
Minnie Mouse
The only bow ties around my house can be found in a box of bow tie pasta and that is how I’ll be celebrating today. Bow ties are a fun and easy way to make most any pasta dish.
Of course I looked on line to see if I could find a new way to use them and this is what I found. Ready in less than 45 minutes, this creamy bow tie pasta recipe combines chicken, cream of mushroom soup, and cheese for a satisfying main dish.
One Pot Chicken Pasta
1 quart water
4 skinned and boned chicken breasts, cut into bite size pieces
8 ounces uncooked bow tie pasta
1 cup chicken broth
1 celery rib, chopped
1 small onion, chopped
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 8 oz. package pasteurized prepared cheese product, cubed
Garnish: chopped fresh parsley
Bring 1 quart salted water to a boil in a Dutch oven. Add chicken, and cook 20 minutes or until done. Remove chicken from water with a slotted spoon. Add pasta to water in Dutch oven, and cook 10 minutes or until tender; drain. Keep warm. Save drained broth.
Heat 1/4 cup broth over medium high heat in a Dutch oven; add celery and onion, and cook 5 minutes or until tender. Stir in chicken, soup, cheese, and remaining 3/4 cup chicken broth, stirring until cheese is melted. Toss with pasta; garnish, if desired. Serve immediately.
Today we’ll warm up with temps close to 80 and for the next week it looks like we’ll stay that way. Temps in the 80’s, sometimes close to 90 degrees will be making us feel like this summer might just last forever. It won’t. So I’ll just enjoy it while it lasts.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday !

ADVICE FOR TODAY
When you wear a bow tie, doors open for you. Your posture is a little more erect; your shoulders are a little further back; your style is a little more dynamic. It's about the reestablishment of the gentleman.
