Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Each year on August 12th, National Middle Child Day is celebrated across the US. This day gives special recognition to the joys and pains of being stuck in the middle.
It is believed, by many, that birth order plays a pivotal role in the personalities of children. The Middle Child Syndrome states that the first born is often the leader and the role player while the youngest one is always considered
the baby of the family, therefore, leaving the middle child without a special role, but on the plus side, it could mean you get away with a lot more.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Other things may change us, but we start and end with family.
Anthony Brandt
With 7 children in my family, I would like to dispute the Middle Child theory. From the oldest to the youngest they were all very unique and wonderful individuals in their own right. There is an oldest and a youngest with several others in between. All with different personalities for sure! Not one more special than the other, but they were all blessings to me.
According to a few articles I read, there are perks for being middle children. Middle children have a role model for how to be a role model. Paying attention to an older sibling's mistakes also builds a resourceful middle child who is aware of the opportunities around them. All but the oldest, had someone a little older to forge the way for them. Middle children don’t have the pressure of doing something first.
Middle children are peacemakers. They are able to see both sides of any argument. Being in the middle of things they become very diplomatic. They know how to choose their battles and learn to let trivial matters go. Their flexibility and sociability means that they' ll often end up being the kind of laid back people that others like to be around. I think this pretty much describes most of my children.
I love my large family and grandchildren. In the middle, or youngest, or oldest…they are very special to me.
I’m still taking pictures of the sunset which always reminds me to be thankful for each day.
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday !
COUNTING MY GIFTS
The happiest moments of my life have been the few which I have passed at home in the bosom of my family.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
3028. for my large family
3029. for life as the mother of many, it's been every bit as blissful as I imagined.
3030. for being able to see the world through the eyes of a child, so filled with awe and excitement over each new discovery

GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Be happy now. Don't wait for something outside of yourself to make you happy in the future. Think how really precious is the time you have to spend, whether it's at work or with your family. Every minute should be enjoyed and savored.
Earl Nightingale
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

What a beautiful sunset!! I agree with you, Ma, no matter how many kids in a family, they are all unique and special and hopefully each individually loved by their parents. My brother was the middle child of us three. Being a boy and mom's favorite (it was okay he was her favorite, we knew we were all loved) he did get away with a bit more than my sister and me did, but then again we were girls so maybe that's why he got away with more.
