August 26th is Women's Equality Day. Formerly known as Woman Suffrage Day, this day marks the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution (1920), granting women the right to vote.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
We are all alike, on the inside.
Mark Twain
It’s hard to believe that there really was a time when women couldn’t vote. But it’s true, it took an amendment to our constitution to make it possible. I’ve always believed that we are all created equal. I was taught that no one is better than me and I’m not better than anyone else. We were all created equal no matter what. We’re all precious in God’s sight.
I love being a woman and all it includes. I probably would not have joined the ranks of the women that did so much to ensure we got the right to vote. I loved staying at home being the keeper of the house and watching over my children and all that included. The cooking, the cleaning, the daily things that make a house a home were always something I enjoyed. Still and all, I’d love to see a woman become President.
We really have been enjoying some cooler days here, but they say we’ll be heating back up to summertime temps in the 80’s for the weekend. It’s not so cool as to make me chilly, just a nice respite from the heat.
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday !
COUNTING MY GIFTS

Scottish Proverb
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.

3071. for a respite from the hot days of summer
3072. for being a woman, it’s wonderful
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Before God, we are all equally wise, and equally foolish.
Albert Einstein
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

It is good for men and women to be treated equally since that is how God intended it with us both being made in his image, so its nice we have the same rights as men. Now it would be nice if all people exercised their right to vote :)
betty
I love this.
Years ago, I thought some of my friends would pass out knowing I wanted to stay home and keep house. I have always felt it to be such a blessing!
Happy day.
