Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
The first Tuesday of August is National Night Out. National Night Out is an annual community building campaign that promotes police and community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, better places to live. Together, we can make that happen.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Without a sense of caring, there can be no sense of community.
Anthony D'Angelo
Just a few days ago two of my grandsons got to attend a National Night Out celebration in their town and that is what the pictures are of today.
Once upon a time, we kept our porch lights on. We opened the door even if we didn’t know who rang the bell. And we could always leave the back door unlocked during the day. Sadly that is not always the case anymore. Here in our town we are a neighborhood watch community and that is what being a good neighbor is supposed to be all about.
It’s always a good thing to be aware of what is going on around you. I don’t know a lot about my neighbors but I do know that ours is a comparably quiet street. Most of the neighbors keep to them selves, but I know when they usually come and go an recognize them when I see them. If anything were to appear suspicious, I’d know it.
It’s a good thing too that children be taught who to go to when they need help if mom and dad aren’t around. So anything that promotes this is a good thing I’m thinking.
They say we’ll have a high of 81 degrees here today with most sunny skies. A great day to have a great day !
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday !
COUNTING MY GIFTS
For a community to be whole and healthy, it must be based on people's love and concern for each other.
Millard Fuller
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
3004. for communities that help each other
3005. for our policemen and firemen, they help in times of trouble
3006. for my Sunshine Boys, they always make me smile
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
We cannot live only for ourselves. A thousand fibers connect us with our fellow men
Herman Melville
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

That night out gathering seemed like a good one to educate people on safety. It is so true how times have changed. I remember when churches used to be open all the time so people could go in and pray; but not these days sadly.
