73 DAYS UNTIL WINTER
77 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS
Sunrise:7:34 am
Sunset: 6:57 pm
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
October 9th is Give Peace a Chance Day. This pacifist holiday marks the birthday of the late John Lennon, who recorded a hit single of the same title with Yoko Ono.
If everyone demanded peace instead of another television set, then there'd be peace.
John Lennon
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Where there is faith, there is love; Where there is love, there is peace; Where there is peace, there is God; And where there is God; there is no need.
Leo Tolstoy
I think we all like to be peaceful and live peaceful lives but somehow the daily grind takes away the peacefulness we all desire. Just to turn on the news is one way to upset my day. I try to take in the good and forget the bad, but that's not easy at all.
That's one of the reasons I always try to look on the bright side of every situation. I don't want anything or any one to steal my peace. I think the trick is to stay positive. Peace is possible.
We need to begin with ourselves and our relationships around us. End a fight before it begins even if it means apologizing. Just because you disagree with someone does not mean you need to hate them or hurt them. Forgive quickly. Peace is gift from God .
After several days of clouds and rain the sun returned to northern Ohio yesterday. I feel like I've been inside way too much lately, so it may be a great day to get out and maybe do some yard work today.
Today's pictures are of my Sunshine boys on the pumpkin farm this time last year.
I hope you all have a peace filled and wonderful Wednesday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Peace is always beautiful.
Walt Whitman
I have counted at least 3 things I'm thankful for this past year and have now reached my 1000 gifts. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1022. for a blue sky day
1023. for peaceful feelings
1024. for those that promote peace
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
Have courage for the great sorrows of life, and patience for the small ones. When you have laboriously accomplished your daily tasks, go to sleep in peace. God is awake.
Victor Hugo
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma

Love the photos of your boys. I had read somewhere it was John Lennon's Birthday today. Sad that he was taken so soon. He had an incredible talent, although I do believe he was a bit of a tortured soul. Have a great Wednesday!
John Lennon was my favorite Beatle, and you may have read we went to a Beatle's tribute concert on Saturday night. Despite his foibles, he was a great songwriter and musician, and a deep thinker, I believe. I wish we could all just give peace a chance. I'm going to try it around here today.
Looked like the Sunshine Boys enjoyed their time at the pumpkin farm last year. I do agree that peace can start with us even in our small daily routines. If we all did a little bit towards it, I'm sure it would make a great difference overall :)

We all nee more peace in our lives. Trying to stay positive in these troubling times is hard. But with God's help I think we can make it. Love the picture of your Sunshine Boys. Blessings
