If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
Educators are honored on October 5th for World Teachers Day. Initiated in 1966 by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organizatin (UNESCO), World Teachers Day lauds instructors globally for their contributions to learning.
What a wonderful day for presenting a special teacher with a thank-you note, accompanied by a shiny apple.
A truly special teacher is very wise, and sees tomorrow in every child's eyes.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.
Henry Adams
I always like to celebrate Teachers Day because our family has had and still does have many teachers in it. Teachers are so important to all of us. I think they have one of the most important jobs in the world. If I could, I'd award each and every one of them with a big gold medal.
Just about every week I've been able to get out and buy some fresh produce at the famers markets. This week I got what could possibly be my last batch of sweet corn. I also found a pie pumpkin and some indian corn. Sometime soon maybe I'll show you the pumpkin all cooked up and ready for making pumpkin pies.
Apples of all kinds are available right now. I saw Cortlands, macintosh, Rome beauties, and ginger golds all on sale. There were also dozens of people out picking there own apples in the many orchards we passed by. I did stop at one of them and get some apple cider and some apple fritters to enjoy.
Todays pictures are of just some of the sights of autumn I saw along the way.
I hope you all have a super Saturday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
The hardest arithmetic to master is that which enables us to count our blessings.
Eric Hoffer
I have counted at least 3 things I'm thankful for this past year and have now reached my 1000 gifts. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1010. for teachers everywhere
1011. for reading, writing and arithmetic, all things we need in every day life
1012. for indian corn and pumpkins
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !

I too do admire teachers, Ma. They have a hard dedicated job working with kids and they don't get paid what they are worth.
I do hope you post pictures of your pumpkin pie making; sounds like a fun thing to do I'm sure the house will smell delicious when you do so!

Hi dear one,

They are responsible for doing a very important job following their role models for students.
