If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
It was on this day in 1894 that John Shively Knight , who parlayed the Akron Beacon Journal into the Knight Newspaper empire, was born. He was a native of Kentucky, but was raised in Akron, Ohio. For almost 40 years he wrote a weekly newspaper column in the Beacon Journal called the Editor's Notebook. It won him a Pulitzer Prize for editorial writing in 1968. His philosophy was simple: Get the truth and print it.
There's more to the truth than just the facts.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
In seeking truth you have to get both sides of the story.
Walter Cronkite
We all deserve to know the truth. So many things were hear and see these days are not the truth. They may be a part of the story, but not the whole truth. If we really want to know the truth, it is good to check out all sides of the story. It's not always possible to know the whole truth about something, but it is better to check out all the options before believing something to be the truth. If we believed every thing we heard these days, we'd be in big trouble.
For me, seeing is often believing. If I can see something for myself then I know it is the truth. Just like all the commercials, If I try a product out and know it is good, then I'll believe what they say is the truth.
I've found the following quote to be quite good advice when it comes to telling truth.
If you know something hurtful and not true, don't say it.
If you know something hurtful and true, don't say it.
If you know something helpful but not true, don't say it.
If you know something helpful and true, find the right time to say it.
Buddha
Truth be told, I find each day so full of good things that I've not time for the bad stuff. Truth is beauty and beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Hope you all have a super Saturday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
God offers to every mind its choice between truth and repose. Take which you please - you can never have both.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
I have counted at least 3 things I'm thankful for this past year and have now reached my 1000 gifts. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1073. for those that speak the truth with love
1074. that I have the will and grace to choose truth over a lie
1075. all the beautiful things each day brings
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU !
You'll never get mixed up if you simply tell the truth. Then you dont have to remember what you have said, and you never forget what you have said.
Sam Rayburn
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

So true to check out all sides of the story about what is the truth or not. I did a study one time in the Gospels of how many times Jesus said "I tell you the truth" when he said a statement about this or that. It came up to if I remember correctly about 48 times which I thought was interesting because we don't go around saying that a lot "I tell you the truth" so I figure Jesus definitely is the truth with what he says :)

Pam, we are living in the age of Lies. I firmly believe that. It's getting more difficult as time passes to find anyone who is honest anymore. It seems, even the little white lie is acceptable and not frowned upon. I like to think that I am honest, or at least I always try to be! I Love Betty's comment on the Saviour!! He had it right! Have a wonderful Sunday! xxoo
