If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
Harry Pierpoint and Charles Makley broke John Dillinger out of the Allen County jail in Lima, Ohio on this day in 1933. It was the beginning of the Dillinger Gang. Dillinger had robed several banks before he was arrested in Dayton and was taken to the Lima jail to await trial. The gang was captured in January 1934. Dillinger escaped jail again and formed a new gang. He was declared Public enemy #1. His life ended at the age of 31 when he was shot by federal agents when exiting a Chicago theatre.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
As I grow older I pay less attention to what men say. I just watch what they do.
Andrew Carnegie
It is amazing to me that some men can have such an influence over others like Dillinger did. Why men would want to be part of a gang that robs and steals is beyond my comprehension. Thankfully those that influence my life were good people with high morals.
Good influences like those of my hard working parents, my grand parents and other family and friends all helped to make me who I am.
I think that now more than ever it's important to know who our children are hanging out with and to get to know who is influencing their lives. They need all the guidance they can get. I've heard it said more than once, that kids will join gangs because they are looking for love and attention. We need to make sure they are getting that at home and don't go looking for it in the wrong places.
It's hard to believe that it's the weekend again already. The pictures today are more of my Sunshine boys. These were this years fun at the Pumpkin farm.
Hope you all have a super Saturday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
I have counted at least 3 things I'm thankful for this past year and have now reached my 1000 gifts. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1031. for the good influences in my life.
1032. for pumpkins and sun flowers
1033 for smiling faces
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !

A bit of love from someone dear…

So true Ma to be knowing who our kids are hanging around. That's why when the kids were younger, I never minded their friends hanging out at our house, didn't mind them eating snacks, etc. At least I got to know who they were.
Cute pictures of the Sunshine Boys' adventures year at the pumpkin farm :)
betty
Pictures of the boys are so good. I am sure they are nice kids.
