If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
It was on this date in 1976 that Ohio's Cincinnati Reds became the first National League team in more than 50 years to win back to back World Series championships.
When it comes to anything that's social, whether it's your family, your school, your community, your business or your country, winning is a team sport.
Bill Clinton
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
People who work together will win, whether it be against complex football defenses, or the problems of modern society.
Vince Lombardi
I think that one of the nice things about any sport is that it teachers teamwork. When people work together as a team everyone achieves more. Whether it is baseball, football or working together as a family, everything works out better when we do things together to get something done. Working together toward a common goal provides a sense of purpose that is motivating and fulfilling. Without a goal, there is no team.
I can remember the days when my children were assigned team projects in school. They always disliked these projects because there were usually a member of the team that didn't want to participate. That made more work for those that did get together and work on the project. The work got done and turned in to the teacher but it would have been even better had everyone on the team worked together.
Wherever people work together or play together they do so as a team. We are not born knowing how to work with other people. This is a lesson that we all can learn. Having had a large family that worked together to get things done, I found out that there is no best job or least job but that all are essential jobs. Alone we can only do a little, but together we can do a lot. We all need each other.
I hope you find yourself on the winning team today, working together to get something done and have a happy Monday!
Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.
Helen Keller
COUNTING MY GIFTS
From quiet homes and first beginning, out to the undiscovered ends, there's nothing worth the wear of winning, but laughter and the love of friends.
Hilaire Belloc
I have counted at least 3 things I'm thankful for this past year and have now reached my 1000 gifts. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.

Your posts always add such a positive note to my day! Thank you so much!
And now my week is started right, reading your Monday post.
64 days until Christmas, gulp.
So true about teamwork, Ma. I do remember the kids working on projects with others at school, I often wondered why the teachers did that, but it makes sense now for them to learn how to do teamwork in a situation like a school setting, which would ultimately help down the road in a job setting. Definitely takes team work for the size of family you have to get it all done when they were at home!

Great post MA, I can remember the same things when my children were growing up. Christmas will be here before we know it, seems like the time passes so fast.
