64 DAYS UNTIL WINTER
68 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS
Sunrise:7:44 am
Sunset: 6:42 pm
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
Alfred F. Klausmeyer, cofounder of the Anchor Buggy Company, was born on this day in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1860. Anchor became the world's largest buggy manufacturer due to it's assembly line, the first in the industry. Anchor also built cars when they became popular, but to succeed they would need to retool their plants and the banks refused to provide a loan . Anchor then sold the prototype automobiles in New York.
Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress; working together is success.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Life’s a car ride…Sometimes it’s cruise control down smooth highways. Other times it’s potholes on rural roads.
Carolyn Mackler
About the only time I see a horse and buggy these days are in the parts of Ohio that have Amish communities. Then you see them everywhere. But there was a time that cars were looked down on and people were afraid to drive them. The roads were full of horses and buggies.
Any new invention brings a little fear with it. Those people would be amazed at the amount of cars now driven on our highways. Changes come in leaps and bounds and the automobile was just one of many. The better able you are to adapt to change, the greater your chances of being successful.
Yes, it was a little scary at the time I was learning to drive, but the more I practiced the better I became at it and the more I drove, the more at ease I felt. That is the way of most things in our lives. We don't want to turn our backs away from new things, but with good attitude be willing to try.
Tonight we'll be seeing the Full Hunter's Moon. Native American tribes referred to this Moon as the Full Hunter's Moon, as it was the time to go hunting in preparation for winter. It rises around sunset and sets around sunrise, the only night in the month when the Moon is in the sky all night long.
I hope you all have fantastic Friday! Slow down and enjoy the ride.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Gratitude is the best attitude.
Author Unknown
I have counted at least 3 things I'm thankful for this past year and have now reached my 1000 gifts. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1049. for the 'little red hen', my car, she gets me where I need to go
1050. for changes that are good
1051. for life in the slow lane
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
The elderly don't drive that badly; they're just the only ones with time to do the speed limit.

A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
