ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
NOBEMBER 26TH, 2009
It's THURSDAY…
HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!
As I celebrated with my family last weekend, today is going to be a quiet one for me. I’ll be busy though as I have lots to do getting ready for Christmas. I’m so thankful for a long weekend to get some things done.
I’ve had a lot to be Thankful for this year so I just wanted to name of few
I’m thankful for my family, a new grand child and another on the way too.
For my home, for my job and for my health.
For my friends and all the folks that have shown so many different kindnesses to me throughout this year.
There are so many things to be thankful for and I do…
THANK YOU!
We do have this day as a reminder to give Thanks, but remember it if we can be truly thankful for the little things in life there will never be a time when we cannot find something to be thankful for every day of the year.
THINKING
(Wouldn’t a fresh homegrown tomato taste good about now?)
November is the month when we remember all the things we are thankful for and the One that makes them possible
The Lifter of My Head
Father God, I praise you because you are a shield around me
, O LORD; you bestow glory on me and lift up my head when I am weary or depressed. . .
Psalm 3:3
NEW IN THE KITCHEN
This is the dining room, not the kitchen, but I wanted you all to see it as it was before we had our family feast last Saturday. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll have a picture to share of what it looks like now…keep in mind I’m getting ready for Christmas. Preparations are in the works.
ATTIRE FOR TODAY
This is DS#5 and his wife who will be hosting our Family Christmas celebration this year. Their house is larger than mine so there will be a lot more room f
or us all. We always do our family get together the Saturday before the holiday s
o this year it will be the 19th. of December.
The ‘babes’ decided while we were together last weekend that we’ll be doing all kinds of finger foods, snack foods instead of a big dinner. I’ll still bring
a ham and so those that want will be able to make a sandwich and there will be cheese and dips and a veggie tray too. Of course there will be lots of Christmas cookies and
sweets I’m sure. Sounds like a feast to me
Today is supposed to be a rainy one and a little colder too as the temps will remain in the low 40’s.
Take good care all!
PRAYERS
Dear Father in heaven, as we all celebrate Thanksgiving and begin our preparations for Christmas may we always remember to be thankful to You Who makes it all possible.
Thank You, dear Lord, for all of our many blessings!
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
AROUND HOME
As you can see in the picture above, my house is pretty much wall to wall people when my family comes home for Christmas. We have a great time no matter where we get together, but it is a might cramped to say the least.
DS#5 and DD have pretty much taken over having holidays at their homes and I’m one thankful ‘ma’ for sure.
FAMILY ALBUM
A couple of years ago we made a trip to visit the actual house in Cleveland where the Christmas Story was filmed. The kids have all loved that movi
e for years so it was a special treat to see it for real.
COUNTING THE DAYS
