TODAY'S THOUGHT
Love is the greatest thing that God can give us ... and it is the greatest thing we can give to God; for it will also give ourselves, and carry with it all that is ours
Jeremy Taylor

Just for today: I will take time to hear the sound of silence; it will soothe your soul better than any music
TODAY’S QUOTE
Some people are making such thorough preparations for a rainy day that they aren't enjoying today's sunshine

IT’S TUESDAY !!
Now that Monday is over I only have 3 days left to work this week. Friday is a vacation day and of course I’ll spend it at the campsite. It will be great to have a nice long 3 day weekend.
We have a chance of rain they say Thursday and Friday. But the temps will be in the high 60’s so that is a good thing. The weather has been great the past few days. I love being able to go outside without freezing.
I almost forgot to tell you that DS#6 had called Sunday evening to let me know that he had received his award for first place in illustration for division 3 given by the Associated Press Society of Ohio. That is quite an honor and I’m very proud of him. WTG!!!
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !
TODAY’S PRAYERS
Thank you, Lord, that your love for us keeps us close to you each moment
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their

your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
God Bless You!

TODAY’S SMILE
Obviously from someone with WAY too much time on his or her hands . . .
Whenever I get a packet of M&Ms, I make it my duty to continue the strength and robustness of the candy as a species. To this end, I hold M&M duels.Taking two candies between my thumb and forefinger, I apply pressure, squeezing them together until one of them cracks and splinters. That is the "loser," and I eat the inferior one immediately.
The winner gets to go another round.I have found that, in general, the brown and red M&Ms are tougher, and the newer blue ones are genetically inferior. I have hypothesized that the blue M&Ms as a race cannot survive long in the intense theatre of competition that is the modern candy and snack-food world.
Occasionally I will get a mutation, a candy that is misshapen, or pointier, or flatter than the rest. Almost invariably this proves to be a weakness, but on very rare occasions it gives the candy extra strength. In this way, the species continues to adapt to its environment. When I reach the end of the pack, I am left with one M&M, the strongest of the herd.
Since it would make no sense to eat this one as well, I pack it neatly in an envelope and send it to M&M Mars, A Division of Mars, Inc., along with a 3x5 card reading, "Please use this M&M for breeding purposes."This week they wrote back to thank me, and sent me a coupon for a free 1/2 pound bag of M&Ms. I consider this "grant money." I have set aside the weekend for a grand tournament. From a field of hundreds, we will discover the true champion.
There can be only one!
TODAY’S REFLECTION
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
Psalm 91:1
No one can tell you where the shadow of the Almighty is; you must find that out for yourself. When you have found out where it is, stay there; under that shadow no evil can ever befall you. Oswald Chambers

Thank you, MA, for the food for thought and the great little funny about the M & M's. Because of my love for chocolate, maybe I should try that and see if they send me a coupon!
Loved the M&M story too. I just plain love M&M's even the inferior ones! I look for the silver lining in every day, and always find it. Thank goodness!
