TODAY'S THOUGHT
The secret of getting ahead is getting started. The secret of getting started is breaking your complex overwhelming tasks into small manageable tasks, and then starting on the first one

JUST FOR TODAY
We all need to look for the silver linings in our day-to-day lives
When life seems just a dreary grind; and things seem fated to annoy; say something nice to someone else and watch the world light up with joy
TODAY’S QUOTE
We ought not to be weary of doing little things for the love of God, who regards not the greatness of the work, but the love with which it is performed

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DDIL#5 AND DSIL
May the dear Lord bless you both today and always!
DDIL#5’s birthday was yesterday and DSIL’s is tomorrow so I’m sending both of them birthday wishes today.
My 3 day weekend is over once more and won’t have another til the end of the month when Memorial Day weekend comes our way. I’m so thankful for a long weekend, but I always want more, more, more…
I did put some pictures of this past weekend in my journal if you want to see the new ones. I planted a little herb garden in the big pot by my deck. These were a late Easter gift from DS#1 and family. DSIL and DS#1 built a camp kitchen work station which is very nice and they put a roof on the wood rack we have for campfire wood. It was a busy and fast weekend. Next weekend we are laying more stone around our campsite as we’ve had very little luck growing grass. So that will be another working weekend.
This week will be a full 5 day work week and I’m pretty sure there’s not much on my calendar for after work besides my Thursday evening Bible study.
I hope your weekend was a good one and you are refreshed and renewed for a brand new week!
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY’S SMILE
Before I Was A Mom
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
I never held a sleeping baby just because
I didn't want to put it down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much before I was a Mom.
And before I was a Grandma,
I didn't know that all those Mom feelings more than doubled when you see that little bundle being held by one of your babies...
And remember that behind every successful mother...
Is a basket of dirty laundry.
TODAY’S REFLECTION
I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that bears no fruit he cuts away and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes to make it bear even more. You are pruned already, by means of the word that I have spoken to you. Make your home in me, as I make mine in you
John 15:1-3
Speaking to people who were well acquainted with wild and cultivated plants, Jesus conveyed an important spiritual truth. God our Father is the master
Cultivator.
Jesus said that there can be no real fruit apart from him. He also said that he wants us to bear much fruit. So let’s decide to set our hearts and minds on staying connected to Jesus, the vine, so that we can be as fruitful as possible
We are reminded that we are not the source of our own life.
It is a gift from God,
