TODAY'S THOUGHT
Kindness is the evidence of greatness. If anyone is glad that you are here, then you have not lived in vain
Charles Fenno Hoffman
JUST FOR TODAY
We all need to look for the silver linings in our day-to-day lives
JUST FOR TODAY: I will rejoice in the knowledge that I am a child of God. I am therefore loved unconditionally. Knowing this gives me strength even in the most difficult of times
TODAY’S QUOTE
The way to develop the best that is in a man is by appreciation and encouragement.
Charles Schwab
IT’S FINALLY FRIDAY !!
Hopefully our rain has ended and it will be partly sunny today. It will be a bit cooler than it has been, but no rain is a good thing.
Even though this week was one day short as far as work went, I still have nothing to do in the office. I’ll clean a bit but other wise I’ll be shuffling some file folders around.
It would be nice if every Friday were a vacation day but it’s not so I’ll do the best I can with what I’ve got and that is work today.
I’ll be off to the campground come 4 pm today and I’ll see you all on Monday morning !
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !
TODAY’S PRAYERS
Thank you, God, for sending us Jesus as a tangible reminder of your love. Help us always to show that love to others
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
TODAY’S TRIVIA
Today is Wisconsin Admission Day. It became the 30th U.S. state on this date in 1848
Today is International Day of U.N. Peace Keepers
England’s Leslie Townes Hope was born on this day in 1903, and he was probably smiling instead of crying when he entered the world. You see, Leslie, better known to us as Bob, kept the world smiling for seven decades
1790 - The smallest of the United States joined the first 12 states as number 13. Rhode Island, the Ocean State, probably got its name when discoverer Verrazano noted that, the area we know as Rhode Island, looked about the size of the tiny Greek Isle of Rhodes. Rhode Island’s capital city is Providence, and the tiny violet is appropriate as the state flower. Probably the most famous variety of chicken, the Rhode Island Red, is the state bird.
1917: The 35th U.S. president, John F. Kennedy, was born in Brookline, Massachusetts
1942: Bing Crosby, the Ken Darby Singers, and the John Scott Trotter Orchestra recorded Irving Berlin's White Christmas in Los Angeles for Decca Records, one of history's most successful recordings
TODAY’S SMILE
THINGS I NEED TO KNOW
Don't sweat the small stuff, and remember, most stuff is small.
The most boring word in any language is "I."
Nobody is indispensable, especially you.
People are more important than things.
Persistence will get you almost anything eventually.
Nobody can make you happy.
Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.
Live by what you trust, not by what you fear.
Television ruins more minds than drugs.
Sometimes there is more to gain in being wrong than right.
Life is so much simpler when you tell the truth.
There are no substitutes for fresh air, sunshine and exercise
TODAY’S REFLECTION
You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me . . . to the end of the earth
Acts 1:8
Before Jesus ascended to His Father, He gave His disciples a final command—to launch a worldwide witnessing campaign. The Holy Spirit would come upon them and give them supernatural power to be His witnesses throughout the world
God has left us in the world to witness to the world
