MARCH 10TH, 2009
TODAY'S THOUGHT
At Age: 65 - I have learned that whenever I decide something with kindness, I usually make the right decision
TODAY’S ACTION
Don't confuse having a career with having a life. They are not the same
TODAY’S QUOTE
From what we get, we can make a living; what we give, however, makes a life.
Arthur Ashe
IT’S TUESDAY !!
It’s another day to continue making my living. Work is what I do but it’s not my life for sure. There are so many things that make up my life that working is just a tiny part of it.
DS#5 came over yesterday after work to finish up the ‘handy man’ jobs. He fixed my leaking toilet so now I’m all set til the next time. When you have a house, it seems there is always something. I’m so thankful that he could help me out. I’m neither a plumber nor a carpenter but he did very well at both those jobs. Of course what he does for a living is teaching, far from either of those jobs too.
We are supposed to get more rain today. Spring is on the way for sure!
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !
TODAY’S PRAYERS
Father, Forgive my sins against the unity of your family;
make me love as you loved me
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
TODAY’S TRIVIA
Middle Name Pride Day (Always March 10th) honors the seldom used middle name that often sets you apart from others. It was selected with care, so you should be proud of it.
Here's two big reasons to be proud of your middle name:
First, there are plenty of John Smiths and and Mary Jones. Its the middle name your parents gave you that makes your name unique.
Second, your parents chose your middle name with great care. It often was selected to honor a friend or relative. That person may have possessed certain characteristics that they want you to inherit.
Do you know why you were given your middle name? If not, today is the day to find out. If it was in honor of someone, find out a little more about that person.
We encourage you to enjoy your middle name on Middle Name Pride Day, and every day!

Last Century's Wash-Day Instructions
Years ago a Kentucky grandmother gave a new bride the following recipe for washing clothes. It appears below just as it was written and, despite the spelling, has a bit of philosophy. This is exactly as written and preserved in an old scrap book (with spelling intact).
1. Bilt fire in backyard to heat kettle of rain water.
2. Set tubs so smoke wont blow in eyes if wind is pert.
3. Shave one hole cake of lie soap in bilin water.
4. Sort things, make 3 piles. 1 pile white, 1 pile colored, 1 pile work britches and rags.
5. To make starch, stir flour in cool water to smooth, then thin down with bilin water.
6. Take white things, rub dirty spots on board, scrub hard, and then bile. Rub colored don't bile, just rinch and starch.
7. Take things out of kettle with broomstick handle, then rinch, and starch.
8. Hang old rags on fence.
9. Spread tea towels on grass.
10. Pore rinch water in flower bed.
11. Scrub porch with hot soapy water.
12. Turn tubs upside down.
13. Go put on clean dress, smooth hair with hair combs. Brew cup of tea, sit and rock a spell and count your blessings.
(Tape this over your washer and dryer and next time when you think things seem bleak, read it again and give thanks for your blessings!)
SOMETHING TO DO FOR LENT
In the spirit of Isaiah, clean out a junk drawer, car trunk, toy box and while we clean, have a long talk with the Divine One concerning how we can clean up our lives
Come now, let us set things right, says the Lord.
Isaiah 1:18
TODAY’S REFLECTION

TODAY’S ADVICE
March sun strikes like a hammer
March 10th – The Full Worm Moon
At the time of this spring Moon, the ground begins to soften and earthworm casts reappear, inviting the return of robins. The more northern tribes knew this Moon as the Full Crow Moon, when the cawing of crows signaled the end of winter. This is also known as the Sap Moon, as it marks the time when maple sap begins to flow and the annual tapping of maple trees begins
