ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
MARCH 4TH, 2009
TODAY'S THOUGHT
The miracles of nature do not seem miracles because they are so common. If no one had ever seen a flower, even a dandelion would be the most startling event in the world.

TODAY’S ACTION
Be aware of wonder. Live a balanced life--learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work every day some
Robert Fulghum, All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten
TODAY’S QUOTE
The grand show is eternal. It is always sunrise somewhere; the dew is never dried all at once; a shower is forever falling; vapor is ever rising. Eternal sunrise, eternal dawn and gloaming, on sea and continents and islands, each in its turn, as the round earth rolls
John Muir
IT’S WEDNESDAY !!
OVER THE HUMP DAY!
I’M HAPPY TO SAY THAT TODAY WE ARE SUPPOSED TO WARM UP TO THE HIGH 30’S. That is wonderful news in my books. I just can hardly take any more below freezing weather. My old body is frozen and needs to thaw out.
The SAD season is almost over for me. Seasonal Affective Disorder is something I fight every winter. About the 15th of March, I usually start to feel alive again. It has been such a long cold winter. I’ve tried most every way I know to ‘pep’ myself up. Extra ‘C’ and all just don’t seem to help much.
When the weather improves I’m going to make it a ‘must do’ to sit in the sunshine at least an hour every day. Usually when I get home from work my back steps have the sun on them so if you’re wondering where I am some days, wonder no longer, cause that is where I’ll be.
Take good care all – Spring is almost here !
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !
TODAY’S PRAYERS

in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

TODAY’S SMILE
For best results, this garden should be planted every day:
Five rows of "P"eas:
Preparedness,
Promptness,
Perseverance,
Politeness,
Prayer.
Five rows of squash:
Squash gossip,
Squash criticism,
Squash indifference
Squash grumbling
Squash selfishness.
Five rows of Lettuce:
Let us love one another,
Let us be faithful,
Let us be loyal,
Let us be patient,
Let us be truthful.
Three rows of turnips:
Turn up for church,
Turn up with a new idea,
Turn up with the determination to do
a better job tomorrow than you did today.
Three rows of thyme:
Thyme for each other
Thyme for family
Thyme for friends
Water freely with patience and cultivate with love.
You will reap what you sow.
A minister once illustrated a point in his sermon by saying that we have to know where best to plant our seeds. For example, he went on, a rose needs sunlight, but fuchsias need a shady nook to flourish. On the way out this one woman couldn't stop complimenting the Pastor on his wisdom. Finally she said,
All these years, I've been unable to determine just what the matter with my fuchsias was
SOMETHING TO DO FOR LENT
Plant a seed or bulb and watch it develop through the spring. Pray for your own spiritual growth
Fasting or Feasting during Lent?
Fast from complaining and feast on appreciation.
Fast from bitterness and feast on forgiveness.
Fast from idle gossip and feast on purposeful silence.
Fast from judging others and feast on the Christ within them.
Fast from emphasis on differences and feast on the unity of life.
Fast from apparent darkness and feast on the reality of light.
Fast from thoughts of illness and feast on the healing power of God.
Fast from words that pollute and feast on phrases that uplift.
Fast from anger and feast on optimism.
Fast from discouragement and feast on hope.
Fast from facts that depress and feast on anything that inspires.
Fast from lethargy and feast on enthusiasm.
Fast from suspicion and feast on truth.
Fast from problems that overwhelm and feast on prayer that gives us the strength to get through

Luke 11:32
I will rededicate my life to following Jesus
TODAY’S ADVICE
To get rid of those smelly odors from shoes in the closet, place them in a plastic bag, close tightly, and put it in the freezer for at least two days. The cold kills the bacteria causing the odors
