TODAY’S ACTION

IT’S SATURDAY !!
The good news is that there is only a 30% chance of snow today!
So…that means I’ll be off here soon to join most of my family at the Stroll for Epilepsy today. Please say a little prayer that all our travels are safe ones. No one lives close by so we’ll all be on the road.
DS#2 and #4 and their families are the only ones that won’t be with us as they are even further away in different states, but those of us in Ohio will be for sure.
Hopefully the Sunshine will make an appearance and if it doesn’t we’ll all try to make our own. Usually I can count on my family for more than one SMILE and probably a lot of them.
A SMILE is SUNSHINE to this old heart of mine.
I’ll take lots of pictures and hopefully put them up on my journal page for you all to see tomorrow.
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !
TODAY’S PRAYERS
Lord, show me how to live today with genuine concern for others.
In expressing my care, may I show people that they are valued,
loved and appreciated for who they are.
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

TODAY’S ACTION
If you're angry at a loved one, hug that person. And mean it. You may not want to hug - which is all the more reason to do so. It's hard to stay angry when someone shows they love you, and that's precisely what happens when we hug each other.

IT’S FRIDAY !!
Yes, we finally made it through this week. It was a hard one to say the least with all our bad weather. We may get some more snow today they say and it’ll be another cold one, but tomorrow the sun may peep out.
When the UPS man came into work yesterday, he informed me that next week we may get another 10 inches of snow…heaven only knows where we will put another 10 inches. Every curb around is piled high and I had some difficulty seeing if any traffic was coming before pulling out of our street Thursday morning.
Thankfully it is looking all clear for the weekend so I’ll be able to make the trip to the Stroll for Epilepsy tomorrow morning. DS#1 says he is making a pot of beans and some biscuits to have when we get back to his house. He’s also going to have some vegetable soup for those that don’t like beans and some cheese pizza for the kids. I’m going to try and put together some macaroni salad this evening to take along and I may take something else too if I get so inspired.
We’ll see…
Take good care all !
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !
TODAY’S PRAYERS

IT’S THURSDAY !!
AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR STAR !
May the dear Lord Bless You today and always!!!
Well we had our 3rd major storm in 3 weeks. Friday we’ll be hit by an Alberta Clipper which will bring snow and winds out of the North, and next Tuesday already they are predicting another storm to arrive. The news on TV says that the latest left us with 10 new inches of snow here.
This has got to be a winter that will break some records here in northern Ohio for sure. Couple the snow fall with the fact that we had no January Thaw, and more days below freezing that not you just have to know we have a lot of snow on the ground. Usually there will be a meltdown and we get rid of some of it. When we finally do have melting I just hope it is a slow one so that there will not be major flooding.
Right now the weekend is supposed to be quiet weather wise so I’m still hoping that I’ll be able to make the 2 hour trip down to the Stroll for Epilepsy on Saturday. We are to have a birthday celebration for those January birthday people that can come and I’m looking forward to that too.
We’ll see. . .
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY'S THOUGHT
Life may not be a party we hoped for,
but while we are here we might as well dance
TODAY’S ACTION
Nobody cares if you can't dance well.
Just get up and dance.
Dave Barry
TODAY’S QUOTE
Dancing faces you towards Heaven, whichever direction you turn.
Sweetpea Tyler
A major snow storm is hitting Ohio today. It began last evening and it was supposed to snow all night and will continue today. They say roads will be hazardous. I don’t know yet, but I’ll turn on the news and listen before heading off to work.
I’ll be doing a little clearing away of some of that snow before I head off and I’m going to take my time at it as I really don’t want to be out on those roads before I have to.
I’ll be praying for any travelers out there today and all those affected by this storm. Most people are getting used to the fact that you just have to go slower than usual and you’ll arrive at your destination safely. People have been without power in other places too from ice storms. We are not the only ones with the winter BLAHS for sure.
It is OVER THE HUMP DAY after all and all my humps are filled with ice and snow it seems. Maybe once we get past this storm there won’t be any more big ones for this year. We never know that is for sure, we just try to do the best we can with what we’ve got and I’ve got a snow shovel.
Stay safe all and keep warm !
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !
Please note: after unsuccessful attempt at shoveling- I decided to stay home and called in sick--

TODAY’S SMILE
FOOT PRINTS IN THE SAND
( A slightly different version)
Imagine you and the Lord Jesus are walking down the road together.
For much of the way, the Lord's footprints go along steadily, consistently, rarely varying the pace. But your footprints are a disorganized stream of zigzags, starts, stops, turnarounds, circles, departures and returns.
For much of the way, it seems to go like this, but gradually your footprints come more in line with the Lord's, soon paralleling His consistently. You and Jesus are walking as true friends!
This seems perfect, but then an interesting thing happens: Your footprints, that once etched the sand next to Jesus', are now walking precisely in His steps. Inside His larger footprints are your smaller ones, safely you and Jesus are becoming one.
After many miles you notice another gradual change: The small footprints inside the large footprints seem to grow larger. Eventually they disappear altogether. There is only one set of footprints; they have become one.
This goes on for a long time, but suddenly the second set of footprints is back. This time it seems even worse! Zigzags all over the place. Stops. Starts. Deep gashes in the sand. A veritable mess of footprints. You are amazed and shocked.
Your dream ends and you pray: "Lord, I understand the first scene with zigzags and fits. I was a new Christian; I was just learning. But you walked on through the storm and helped me learn to walk with you." Jesus answers, "That is correct."
You continue, "... and when the smaller footprints were inside of Yours, I was actually learning to walk in Your steps; followed you very closely."
He replies, "Very good. You have understood everything so far." And you add, "... when the smaller footprints grew and filled in Yours, I suppose that I was becoming like you in every way." "Precisely," comes the answer.
But you press on and ask, "So, Lord, was there a regression or something?
The footprints separated, and this time it was worse than at first."
There is a pause as the Lord answers with a smile in his voice. "You didn't know?
That was when we danced.

Today is National Chocolate Cake Day
Chocolate Cake Day is a chocolate lovers delight, and a day to eat cake. Why? This a day to "bake your chocolate cake....and eat it, too!"
On this day, a white or yellow cake will not do. Nor, will part chocolate, part white suffice. It must be chocolate, all chocolate. You can make milk chocolate, dark chocolate, fudge, or any other type of chocolate cake
There are three objectives of Chocolate Cake Day: To bake a chocolate cake, to decorate a chocolate cake, and to eat a chocolate cake. Of course, if you are too busy to bake or decorate a cake, then just eating a chocolate cake will certainly do

TODAY’S SMILE
Do you like chocolate? Here's a list of reasons why you should, if you don't already...
Chocolate is a vegetable: it is derived from cocoa beans. Beans are a vegetable.
Sugar is derived from either sugar CANE or sugar BEETS. Both are plants, which places them in the vegetable category. Thus (to repeat my point), chocolate is a vegetable.
To go one step further, chocolate candy bars also contain milk, which is a dairy product. So chocolate and candy bars containing it are a health food.
Chocolate covered raisins, cherries, orange slices and strawberries all count as fruit, so eat as many as you want.
If you have a problem of trying to figure out how you can get 2 pounds of chocolate home from the store in a hot car, I have the solution for you: eat it in the parking lot.
Diet tip: eat a chocolate bar one half hour before each meal. It'll take the edge off your appetite, and you'll eat less.
If you eat equal amounts of dark chocolate and white chocolate, isn't that a balanced diet? Don't they actually counteract each other?
Chocolate has many preservatives. Preservatives make you look younger.
A nice box of chocolates can provide your total daily intake of calories in one place. Now, isn't that handy?
One More…
A friend of mine recently sought counsel for an issue in his life, and came back to me with this funny report...
My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what I start.
So far today, I have finished 2 bags of chips and a chocolate cake.
I feel better already

IT’S MONDAY !!
Back to work !
I do hope you all got plenty of rest over the weekend and are ready for a new work week! I got plenty of rest, but I don’t know if I’m ready to go back to work. It’s still cold out and I hate the thoughts of leaving the house. But I will after I have my good cup of hot coffee, that is.
I talked to DS#2 yesterday that has been at a school for his work all the month of January. He’ll finally finish and will be headed back to his home the end of this week. He’ll only be home a couple weeks and he’ll be off again. All work related. And DS#4 called and said he’ll be traveling most of the month of February too.
DS#1 called to say they are busy making plans for next weekend. I guess DD and her hubby and DS#5 and his wife and DS#6 and his wife are going down Friday evening and will spend the night so they can help out.
I’ll go early Sat. morning and come home the same evening. They all like to get together and catch up on things anyway, so it’ll be good for them to have the time to visit.
I had one of those things happen to me on Sunday that reminded me that our guardian angels are everywhere. On my way to church I noticed that my door a jar light was on in the car and discovered it was my door. When I got to the church parking lot I tried to get it to close and it wouldn’t. The nicest lady came by and said she’d call her brother and see if he knew how to fix it. I said I had to go into church and just left it the way it was. As I was sitting there in the pew, here she came. She said she fixed it as her brother told her how over the cell phone and she just wanted to let me know. I gave her a big hug and promised extra prayers for her. I didn’t know what else to do, but thank her.
It was still working when I returned home and I hope it will again this morning. It probably just froze up as I took the car to the car wash on Friday and then it went down below freezing again on Saturday. Everything is frozen here.
There still are lots very nice people in this world and I met one of them.
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

Rather, use it as a time to show your spouse that you care and appreciate all of the things that he/she does for you and for the household.
