TODAY'S THOUGHT
Hope is like the sun which, as we journey towards it, casts the shadow of our burden behind us.

TODAY’S QUOTE
Did you ever see an unhappy horse? Did you ever see a bird that had the blues? One reason why birds and horses are not unhappy is because they are not trying to impress other birds and horses.

HAPPY WEDNESDAY !!
OVER THE HUMP DAY !
I had a big surprise yesterday when I found out that the AOL journals are going to shut down. If you’ve ever clicked on my link to ‘GOOD MORNING SUNSHINE’ you know I make a daily entry there and if I’ve pictures to share, that is where I post them. As of October 31st, we’ll no longer have that option.
I’m switching the journal entries to my blogger account which is also in my links under ‘What’s New at My House.’ I’ll not be able to add as many pictures as I have in the past, but I’ll still be able to ‘blog’.
My Website that I’ve had for years will also be a thing of the past. I’ve used this to put in a lot of favorite things and stuff for my family like the monthly calendar and recipes and of course more pictures. I’ll be setting up another blogspot blog with recipes when I have time…
It just goes to show nothing ever stays the same. Changes come when we least expect them. I’ve always said that I should print out my journal pages so I could keep a hard copy, but I never did. Now it would take me forever to do so…so my journals will be going going gone in just a few days.
Believe me…I will be printing my entries out each day in the future.
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY’S SMILE
Because North Americans cram so much into their lives, we tend to schedule our headaches. We live on a sparse diet of promises we make to ourselves when all the conditions are perfect: We'll go back and visit the grandparents when we get Stevie toilet-trained. We'll entertain-when we replace the living-room carpet. We'll go on a second honeymoon when we get two more kids out of college.Life has a way of accelerating as we get older.
The days get shorter, and the list of promises to ourselves gets longer. One morning, we awaken, and all we have to show for our lives is a litany of "I'm going to," "I plan on" and "Someday, when things are settled down a bit."When anyone calls my 'seize the moment' friend, she is open to adventure and available for trips. She keeps an open mind on new ideas. Her enthusiasm for life is contagious. You talk with her for five minutes, and you're ready to trade your bad feet for a pair of Roller blades and skip an elevator for a bungee cord.
My lips have not touched ice cream in 10 years. I love ice cream. It's just that I might as well apply it directly to my hips with a spatula and eliminate the digestive process. The other day, I stopped the car and bought a triple-decker. If my car had hit an iceberg on the way home, I would have died happy.
Now...go on and have a nice day. Do something you WANT to ......not something on your SHOULD DO list. If you were going to die soon and had only one phone call you could make, who would you call and what would you say?Attributed to Erma Bombeck, 1991
SPECIAL THOUGHTS…
There was a little boy with a bad temper. His father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, to hammer a nail in the back fence. The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Then it gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence. Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper.
The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone. The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out, it won't matter how many times you say I'm sorry, the wound is still there. A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one

TODAY’S REFLECTION
As Jesus and his disciples were proceedingon their journey, someone said to him,“I will follow you wherever you go.”Jesus answered him,“Foxes have dens and birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to rest his head.”And to another he said, “Follow me.”But he replied, “Lord, let me go first and bury my father.”But he answered him, “Let the dead bury their dead. But you, go and proclaim the Kingdom of God.”And another said, “I will follow you, Lord, but first let me say farewell to my family at home.”Jesus answered him, “No one who sets a hand to the plowand looks to what was left behind is fit for the Kingdom of God
Luke 9: 57-62
Lord, help us to be passionate in our desire to follow you, in our seeking to love you. Support us in our frustration when we seem to be getting nowhere. Let not the awesomeness of your justice paralyze us, nor our sense of the gap between our aspirations and our ability to achieve. Help us to give the whole of the little we have
