HAPPY TUESDAY !!
Flannel and Fleece time has arrived!
My furnace is on…set at 69 degrees and holding. It’s getting colder and the point of no return has come. Once that furnace is on it won’t get shut off til Spring.
There is really not much in the way of winterizing done around here except for putting a clean filter in the furnace and switching the ceiling fan blades around. I’m never sure if it is clock wise or counter clock wise but what ever they are on now, I’ll switch them over. I do have to take in the garden hose and shut off the outside water faucets so that they don’t freeze up, but that is about it.
For today and Wednesday I see a high of 68 degrees in the forecast with a low of only 52. At the campground Sunday morning it was down to 36!
On my calendar for after work this week there is nothing but Bible Study on Thursday evening. It looks like a pretty quiet week!
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY IS…RIPE PUMPKIN DAY
Pumpkins are 90 percent water. They were once recommended for removing freckles and curing snake bites. We don't know if that works, but we DO know they are good to eat!
PUMPKIN BREAD
(MAKES 3 LOAVES)
3 cups sugar, granulated
3 1/2 cups flour, all-purpose
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
4 large eggs
1 cup vegetable oil
2 cups pumpkin (cooked)
2/3 cup water1
1/2 cups walnuts, chopped
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and butter 3 loaf pans.Sift the dry ingredients together into a large bowl. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add the eggs, oil, pumpkin and water. Beat well with an electric mixer. Stir in the walnuts with a wooden spoon. Pour the batter into the loaf pans filling each half to two-thirds full.
Bake for 60-90 minutes. The bread is done when a toothpick in the middle comes out clean. Cool about ten minutes, then loosen the edges of the bread with a knife and turn out to cool on a rack.

TODAY’S SMILE
I've always ordered beverages one simple way - "A Coke, please."Lately, though, this hasn't seemed to work. Waitresses now often respond, "I'm sorry, we don't have Coke. We have Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, 7-Up, Mr. Pibb, Fanta ,Yahoo and Red Bull."
Tired of listening to the long list of soft drinks, I thought I'd make life easier. So one day I simply asked the snack bar lad at a movie theater for a "dark, cold, carbonated beverage."The young man behind the counter chuckled and asked, "Ok. But, sir, would you like a long, thin, cylindrical plastic sucking device with that?

TODAY’S REFLECTION
Jesus entered a village where a woman whose name was Martha welcomed him.She had a sister named Marywho sat beside the Lord at his feet listening to him speak. Martha, burdened with much serving, came to him and said,“Lord, do you not carethat my sister has left me by myself to do the serving? Tell her to help me.” The Lord said to her in reply,“Martha, Martha, you are anxious and worried about many things. There is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better partand it will not be taken from her
Luke 10: 38-42
Martha was distracted by her many tasks.
Today’s gospel tells the story of two strong women, Martha and Mary, seemingly at odds in their methods of service and perhaps vying for the attention of their guest.A closer look reveals a deeper truth. Without the spiritual treasure of Mary’s closeness to Jesus, service can become empty and meaningless. And without the outlet of loving service, spiritual treasure will be like the treasure hidden in the field.
It is a question of balance.
