TODAY'S THOUGHT
Part of the happiness of life consists not in fighting battles but in avoiding them. A masterly retreat is in itself a victory.
Norman Vincent Peale
TODAY’S ACTION
Every day, try to be a little wiser
than you were the day before

HAPPY FRIDAY !!
Here it is finally FRIDAY. The last day of this work week. It will be a quiet one at work too. All of my weekly duties are done so I’ll be cleaning up the office a bit to keep busy. I hope the boss is out of the office for awhile so that I can do just that. I’ve decided that my stuffy head is sinus as no other problems have surfaced. That is a good thing.
Tomorrow morning I’ll be at the camper for a little while doing the final close up. DSIL has to do the antifreeze for me as I have no idea how to do that. He’ll also have to roll up my camper awning for me. The chairs and tables that I’ve been using on my deck are old ones that DD had and they’ll be going to the dumpster. I’m afraid they’ve seen their better days. Next year I’ll have to get something new to use.
Everything will be either packed away or brought home for the winter. I just hope those little critters don’t decide to winter inside my camper again. They do make a mess of things.
This weekend you will be getting my newsletter every day as I will be home. Something different for a change.
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !
TODAY’S PRAYERS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
25 WORDS
God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me,
and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name
TO REMEMBER…
I am in the hands of God,
and in God’s time all things will be made well.
TODAY IS…BLACK CAT DAY
Cats of all colors were domesticated as pets around 3000 B.C. in Egypt. They were well loved and protected by law from mistreatment. But let's jump to Europe during the Middle Ages. Many old women fed stray cats in the streets. When superstitious people called these old women "hags" or "witches", they thought the cats (especially black cats) were their witchy companions. That's the only reason black cats were ever considered unlucky. Silly superstition

TODAY’S SMILE
A Jewish legend tells us that King Solomon once asked a jeweler to design a ring and inscribe words on the ring band that would be true and appropriate at all times and in all situations. Some days later, the jeweler brought the king a ring inscribed with the words, "This too shall pass." On bad days, the king would read the inscription and be reassured, and when he was having an especially good day, the king would read it and be sobered
ONE MORE…
A teacher asked her students to use the word "fascinate" in a sentence. Marta said, "My family went to the Louisville Zoo, and it was fascinating to see all the animals."The teacher said, "That was good, but I wanted the word 'fascinate.'"Sarita raised her hand. She said, "My family went to the Cincinnati Zoo and I was fascinated by the animals.""That's good, too," said the teacher, "but I wanted the word 'fascinate.'"Little Billy raised his hand and said proudly, "My sister has a sweater with 10 buttons, but it is so small she can only fasten eight

TODAY’S REFLECTION
I set before you life or death, blessing or curse. Choose life, then,
so that you and your descendants may live in my love.
Deut 30: 19-20
Today is “United Nations Day”, being the day on which the UN was established
in 1945, after the world had seen what total war could do
At the inaugural session of the United Nations in 1945 at the end of the Second World War, Britain’s Prime Minister- Clement Attlee - stated that
“It is for the peoples of the world
to make their choice
between life and death.”
Let us pray about “choosing life”
in our own daily circumstances:
God our Father,
peace in our world
begins with the attitude and actions
of individual people.
We pray
that we may live in such a way
that we are positive in our attitude,
choosing “life”
in the small events of this day
- rather than choosing “death”
that comes from a negative attitude
of criticism and finding fault,
of doing others down
and being miserable.
In choosing
“life” rather than “death”,
living positively and cheerfully,
may we bring life to others.
Amen.
