The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.
Slightly adapted from one of my morning devotionals
Life is a special occasion!
Today is a HAPPY birthday to my grandson, our Ray of Sunshine ! He and his brother are called my sunshine boys!

Happy Birthday to you♥
Today is also Constitution Day and Citizenship Day which commemorates the adoption of the Constitution of the United States and those who have become U.S. citizens!
On this day members of the U.S. Constitution Convention signed the Constitution in 1787.
While many contributed to crafting the document, James Madison wrote the draft forming the basis for the constitution,
Those who participated in its development gathered in Independence Hall in Philadelphia that sultry day in 1787. George Washington presided over the Convention. But many Founding Fathers attended to other duties, unable to participate.
Thomas Jefferson, the author of the declaration, served overseas on behalf of his country. John Adams also served abroad. Patrick Henry refused to attend due to principal and preferring the Articles of Confederation. Others eventually swayed Henry when convention leaders added a Bill of Rights.
Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, James Madison and George Washington all signed the constitution.
On December 7, 1787. Delaware became the first state to ratify the Constitution . Rhode Island didn’t send any delegates to the Convention. Their headstrong character did not appreciate a powerful government and held tight to their independence as long as they could. As a result they were the last to ratify the Constitution on May 29th, 1790.
While the 14th Amendment was the first step in a long line of amendments defining citizens and their rights, It took decades to enforce some of those rights.
Celebrate today and learn more about the Constitution and the process of becoming a citizen. Explore the history and study the people who brought the Constitution to life and the road to its ratification. I am proud to live in the United states and am a citizen by birth.
To see the bright side, polish the dull side
The happy Union of these States is a wonder, their Constitution is a miracle; their example is the hope of Liberty throughout the world.
James Madison
This grandson lives in Florida so I won’t be seeing him today but a card with lots of love and birthday wishes will soon be on the way.
He was just here for a visit and I got lots of hugs in while he was here! I only wish I’d thought to give him his birthday card.
I remember when schools stopped teaching cursive, many complained that some would never be able to read the Constition because it is written in cursive writing. and it shows beautiful writing skills too.
I learned a lot about the Constitution when I was in school, but a movie I watched called John Adams helped me better understand the people in those times. Some fought endlessly for our Constitution and eventually succeeded. It turns out I got the weather wrong for this week, We have been and will be mid nineties with little chance of rain.
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!
The Constitution is a guide which I will never abandon,
George Washington
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
12,686. for my grandson, our Ray of Sunshine, It’s his Birthday

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters and EMT’s.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
The Constitution only gives people the right to pursue happiness. You have to catch it yourself.

a smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

HAPPY birthday to your grandson, your Ray of Sunshine !
The constitution article was extremely interesting - thanks for putting it for all to read.
Wonder what those men would think today?
John Adams is a great movie. We also like to watch The Patriot (Mel Gibson), and the series of Legends and Lies with Kelsey Grammar . Really good. And 1776 musical which tells the steps that came to signing the Declaration of Indepence.
Happy 😀 Birthday 🥳
