ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR MONDAY, NOVEMBER 30TH, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Cyber Monday which is a marketing term for the Monday immediately following Black Friday. The term made its debut in 2005 in a Shop.org. press release entitled, Cyber Monday Quickly Becoming One of the Biggest Online Shopping Days of the Year.
Cyper Monday is also in the United Kingdom, France, Portugal, and Germany. Cyber Monday sales can last for 8 days and many people find it an easy and safe way to shop.
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
A bargain isn’t a bargain unless it’s something you need.
Sidney Carroll
I’m sure there will be many sales offered today that will be strictly on line deals. This is not a day for people to go shopping in stores. But for me, I won’t do much at all on line, I like to see in real life what I’m buying before I purchase it. I like to be able to try on shoes and clothing and prefer a real store. But right now I’ve staying in and keeping my distance. It’ll be interesting to see how well they do compared to other years .
The closest I’ve come to online shopping is by giving DD my grocery list and she has placed the order on line. The store does the shopping for us. All she had to do was go pick it up, but they also provide delivery if you want it. I’ve always had good luck with what they provided. Everything has been just as good as if I’d picked it out for myself.
We’re supposed to have some winter weather coming our way today and thankfully my fridge and cupboards are well stocked. They are saying we could get a considerable amount of snow but I won’t have to make a grocery run. I’ve pretty much got everything I need already. I could probably live for a month on what I have put by, except that I do like to pick up fresh produce and milk and bread.
On the menu for today I’ll be fixing
Leftover Turkey Sandwiches
Makes 2 servings
1 tbsp. mayonaise
1 tsp dijon mustard
1 tsp. chopped fresh herbs such as dill parsley rosemary and or thyme
1/2 tsp maple syrup
2 slices crusty whole wheat bread, toasted
1 tbsp. Cold turkey gravy
1 slice smoked cheese
1/4 avacado, sliced
3 oz. thinly sliced cooked turkey breast
2 strips cooked bacon
1/2 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
1 tsp olive oil
1 tsp. white vinegar
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 tbsp. cranberry sauce
Combine mayo, mustard, herbs, and syrup in a small bowl. Spread the mixture on 1 slice of bread. Spread gravy over moyonaise and top with cheese, avocado, turkey and bacon. Toss lettuce with oil, vinegar and pepper and arrange on top of bacon. Spread Cranberry sauce on the remaining slice of bread and place on top of sandwich.
You could even sear a slice of stuffing until its nice and crispy and put that between the turkey and avacado. I didn’t have advacodos on hand so won’t have any on my sandwich, but I don’t think it’ll be missed. Sounds like it has plenty else to fill me up. I happen to have some leftover pasta salad so I’ll be having that as a side with the sandwich.
Since it’ll be a bit nasty out on the roads, It’ll be a good time to get my decorating done here and that is what the pictures are of today, a few of my decorations.
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Instead of a gem, or even flower, we should cast the gift of loving thought into the heart of a friend, that would be giving as the angels give.
George MacDonald
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their

Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Try to remember the reason for the season and not het caught up in all the shopping.
My hubby would LOVE this sandwich! I'm not a big fan of stuffing, but your tip about searing it and layering it with the turkey and avocado sounds really good. Something I'd order in a restaurant, for sure ... if I ever work up the courage to eat out again.
With the surge in Covid numbers, and until there's an approved vaccine, I'm leaning towards on-line shopping for non-perishables and paper goods.
I hope you have a great new week ..... and keep warm!
I do lots of online shopping but not for clothing or shoes. This year all my shopping was done online and I'm sure lots of others will do the same. It's getting down into the 40s tomorrow here in Florida, I'll be freezing and glad I have the yummy leftover sausage and tortellini soup to keep me warm. I'm glad you have everything you need to bundle up and stay in. Your dinner sounds delicious. I love those thanksgiving sandwiches, probably my favorite of all. I also love making pan fried stuffing like you mentioned, it's great with eggs for breakfast. Now I'm craving another Thanksgiving dinner!
Fitting rooms are closed here so people can't try on things while shopping. Its fun to see people holding up items of clothing up against their body trying to figure out if things will fit. Your sandwich sounds yummy! Always had a turkey sandwich in my lunch when growing up on the Monday after Thanksgiving.

I too won't be doing much of any shopping this year. Our kids and us are not exchanging gifts so it makes it much easier as we are all adults including the Grandkids. We will be able to have Christmas Eve together and that will be really special because they live in Texas. I love your Christmas décor!! Unique and simple.
