ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR TUESDAY, JULY 7TH, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Chocolate Day which is a delicious reason to celebrate. Chocolate actually comes from trees. This small tree is called Theobroma Cacao, or the cocoa tree. Its fruit produces cocoa seeds, which in turn produces cocoa powder and chocolate, if only chocolate bars grew on trees.
If you’re a chocoholic, then you have two more chocolate days to celebrate. International Chocolate Day is on September 13 and National Chocolate Day is on October 28th.
Today take the time to enjoy one of the most popular desserts in the world. Whether you prefer to munch on a chocolate bar , sip on a cup of hot chocolate, or smother an ice cream sundae in hot chocolate fudge, but sure to get our chocolate fix. Happy Chocolate Day!
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Chocolate is like medicine- but as with medicine, the key is the proper dose, Don’t overdo it .
Grandpa Jones
I love chocolate and usually have a piece or two of it every day. They say it’s good for you, especially if it’s dark chocolate. It can help reduce cholesterol. Since I’m trying to fix only cool things here this week, I looked for an found a summertime chocolate dessert.
Double Chocolate Mocha Moussse
4 oz semi sweet chocolate
2 oz bittersweet chocolate
2 large egg yolks
1 1/2 tsp instant expresso powder
5 tbsp. granulated sugar
1 1/2 c. heavy cream
Place both the chocolates in a microwave safe bowl. Melt according to package directions. Let cool slightly.
Meanwhile in a small saucepan, whisk together egg yolks, expresso powder, 4 tbsp. sugar and 1/2 c. cream. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly, until the mixture lightly coats the back of a spatula. Do not let mixture boil.
Pour the egg mixture into the cooled chocolate and whisk to combine. Refrigerate about 25 minutes
Using an electric mixer beat together the remaining cup of cream and tablespoon of sugar in a medium bowl until stiff peaks form In two additions, fold in the whipped cream to the chocolate mixture.. Divide among serving dishes and refrigerate at least 20 minutes before serving.
Sprinkle with shaved chocolate , if desired.
I have plenty of chocolate here: hershey’s syrup, chocolate chips, a chocolate dipped ice cream cone, and some little chocolate donettes which are all pictured in my post today.
Keep cool everyone and enjoy some chocolate !
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
All you need is love. But a little chocolate now then doesn’t hurt.

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Chocolate causes certain endocrine glands to secrete hormones that affect your feelings and behavior by making you happy. Therefore, it counteracts depression, in turn reducing the stress of depression. Your stress free life helps you maintain a youthful disposition, both physically and mentally. So eat lots of chocolate !

Chocolate is good and good for you too.
It seems strange but I have lost my enjoyment of chocolate. I can have one bite and that is it unless it is mixed with something like ice cream to cut the sweetness. Use to keep little chocolate candy in the frig but no more of that either. Now potato chips....that can't keep a bag for long.
I love chocolate and yum on that chocolate dipped ice cream cone! Might have to treat myself to some chocolate today!
betty
That first photo reminds me of my parent's 50's refrigerator: Inside the door they always kept an opened can of Hershey's syrup. My after-school ritual was to put vanilla ice milk in a bowl, drizzle the syrup over it and stir like crazy. Yum!
Well now I'm craving chocolate, I think a batch of brownies may have to happen today! :D
