ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR FRIDAY, JULY 10TH, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.
74 DAYS UNTIL FALL

Life is a special occasion!!

Today is Cow Appreciation Day which is a day to remind us how integral cows are to our daily lives. Cows are sometimes considered as the oldest form of wealth . Cattle today are the basis of a multi billion dollar industry world wide.
The production of milk, which is also made into cheese, butter and other dairy products is comparable in economic size to beef production and provides an important part of the food supply.
To celebrate today you can either enjoy some dairy products or by using cow products today
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
All I ever needed to know I learned from a cow.
If it’s good, milk it for all its worth
Sucessful people are moo-vers and shakers
Don’t just be one of the herd.
The cream always rises to the top
Don’t stoop to a barnyard mentality
Don’t be bossy
It’s better to have milked and churned than to have never milked at all.
If you need to get somewhere, hoof it.
Some days can e udder frustration
If you’re feeling low, moo yourself a little song
Chew your food 50 times before swallowing.
Don’t let others corral you.
Munch hay while the sun shines.
He who lives with the herd learns to watch his step
Following your heart will always steer you in the right direction.
Party till the cows come home!
Live for-heifer young
Here a moo, there a moo, everywhere is moo moo

I don’t have any cow pictures to show today, but do have some of the farm my grandparents used to live at. Thankfully I used to get to visit with them quite often and even leaned to milk a cow. I learned how to churn butter in my grandmother’s kitchen. There is nothing that tastes better than home made fresh butter. I also remember her making homemade cottage cheese. They rarely had beef for a meal, but there was no lack of any dairy products.
The results of my doctors appointment went well yesterday and I’m glad to have found a good primary care doctor. He prescribed a pill to lower my blood pressure and made a follow up appointment for two weeks from now. Hopefully it works. This post is late going out today because I need to take a friend in for blood work this mornin
We may be seeing some relief from the heat coming soon. A cool front coming through will bring some rain and take our temps back down to the 80’s which is normal for us in July. Hopefully that means I’ll be able to get back out side for some walks around the community or even a bicycle ride or two. I’m tired of staying inside in the air conditioning.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
8267 for cows, I do like dairy
8268 for a break from the heat
8269. for a bike to ride
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
To laugh is human but to moo is bovine.

We owe our farmers a round of thanks for all they do.
Those are great life lessons from a cow! Some of my best memories involved time spent in my grandfather's barn. I never tried milking a cow, but loved it when the calves would lick my hand with their sand-papery tongues. How interesting about home-made cottage cheese! That's something I never thought about!
Glad to know your doctor's visit was a positive experience. Truth be told, I was trying not to fret when I didn't 'see' you this morning.
That was a cute lesson from a cow. I hadn't seen that before. Glad to hear your appt went well and a medication has been prescribed. Also glad to hear your heat might be breaking with cooler days ahead!
