ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR WEDNESDAY, JULY 21ST, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a special occasion!!

Today is National Junk Food Day which is a day to indulge all your junk food cravings. The average Amerian eats about 25 pounds of candy per year. And whats more each American will consumer about 45 slices of pizza annually Now that’ s a lot of junk food.
Today, open up a big of chips while you watch your favorite show, support a local restaurant by ordering some appetizers, or make an ice cream sundae for dessert. What ever you do , enjoy today with one of your guilty pleasures.
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Nourish the mind like you would your body. The mind cannot survive on junk food.
Jim Rohn
Junk food is defined as processed foods with negligible nutrient value and is often high in salt, sugar and fat. Meals filled with unhealthy fats, artificial ingredients and unnecessary preservatives are hazardous to your health. Plain old cows milk is a healthier addition to your coffee than creamers that are made with water sugar, soybeans and canola oil
I learned long ago that fresh food from the farm is best. Real butter is better than Margarine which comes for vegetable oils and can include palm oil, which has a high saturated fat content and can also cause inflammation. Olive oil can be used instead Just make sure your not overdoing it, as one Tablespoon has 120 calories.
Instead of buying a frozen already made pizza try making your own. Start with whole wheat pizza dough, a low sodium marinara sauce, a light sprinkle of cheese and healthy toppings Go for veggies and skip the pepperoni
This one is a biggie for me. Instead of donuts for breakfast have some zucchini bread The squash is a good source of vitamin.C and B6 a well as potassium. Look for recipes that use buttermilk or yogurt for moisture instead of oil to keep the amount of fat under control.
The best advice is to not go overboard with anything and make sure your menus include a good variety of foods
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
If we’re not willing to settle for junk living, we certainly shouldn’t settle for junk food.
Sally Edwards
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
8303. for food that doesn't cantain junk.
8304. for variety, the spice of life
8305. for zucchini bread which is better than donuts
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Keep your friends close, your enemies closer, and the junk food as far away as possible
Krista Scott-Dixon
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

Who knew zucchini bread was better for you than a donut?
Junk food...at least it is something we can all agree about:)
I agree! Luckily I have never been a fan of junk food, I crave good healthy whole foods.
Last night I skipped the ground burger in my salad and loaded up with diced peppers and summer squash ... delish! I've an old friend who recently shared pictures of her grandchildren making themselves a build-your-own pizza bar -- as healthy or decadent as they pleased.
A little junk food is good few and far between. So much other healthier things to eat that are delicious!
