ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR FRIDAY, JULY 3RD, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a special occasion!!

Today is I Forgot Day which is a day to remind you of those events you might forget in the future. There are many events that can be easily forgotten, such as birthdays or anniversaries .
Forgetting refers to apparent loss of information already stored in an individuals memory. Problems with memory, learning and retaining information are a few of the most common complaints of older adults.
Failing to retreive an event does not mean that this specific event has been forever forgotten. It could just mean the information was not encoded well. Research has shown that there a a few health behaviors that to some extent can prevent forgetting from happening so often. One of the healthiest ways to keep the brain healthy and prevent forgetting is to stay active and exercise.
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
A clear conscience is a sure sign of a bad memory.
Mark Twain
I have to admit to sometimes forgetting what day it is . If it wasn’t for my computer, I’d totally forget sometimes. Luckily it has the time and date right at the top of the page when I open my computer. I have a calendar that is also connected to my phone and my computer and I try to keep it updated with any events I have to remember. I also have the dates set so that I’ll receive a reminder so that I don’t forget, but even with all that sometimes I do slip up. I’m not perfect in anyway and need all the help I can get.
I keep notes and lists on top of lists so I don’t forget things and as I need to add to my shopping list I’ve been letting Alexa keep track of that. I found out recently I could even forward the list to my daughter as she does my shopping for me. Still as hard as I try, I’ll later on discover I’ve forgotten something. With all this technology on hand I should never forget anything.
Still anything is only as good as the user and I have to put it on the list in the first place. Our memory is so important, it’s good to keep our minds active and alert by using them as often as we can. In case I’ve forgotten anything, please let me know, I’d be happy to correct it and put it on my to do list. Alexa will keep track of that for me too.
Life is all memory except for the present moment that goes by so quickly you can hardly catch it going. Everyone needs their memories so they don’t forget what’s important. The pictures today are from a family reunion we had about 5 years ago now. Plenty of good memories there.
So sorry if I forgot anyone!
Have a GREAT Day. Happy Thursday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
God gave us memory so that we might have roses in December.
J.M. Barrie
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
8243 for all my lists and calendar that keep me on track
8244 for my memory that isn’t what it used to be.
8245 for new technology that helps us out more than not.

Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
The advantage of a bad memory is that one enjoys several times the same good things for the first time.
Friedrich Nietzsche
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

This was the last time I had all of my children together, and even at that 3 grandchildren we're missing.
Speaking of forgetting, or in my case I guess blind too, how have I not been following this blog after all these years?! Since I wasn't even a follower here until just now did I never know about this one somehow? I feel like an idiot lol. Well I'm following now at least!
Oh and I have to add, you have a beautiful family! Hugs and smiles :)
Always good to see pictures of your family, Ma!! You have a great system to try to remember things! I think we all slip up occasionally and forget things even if we keep lists. I keep forgetting that today is Thursday; for some reason I think it is Friday. Probably because I don't have to work tomorrow.

You are WAY beter at technology than I am. I know there's a place for notes and my calendar on my iPhone. But I tried it once and kept getting reminders on events I didn't have anymore and I couldn't figure out how to get them off! I keep a pocket calendar in my purse and a planner in my kitchen. I forget little things but not big ones.
It's always fun to see your family! You are so blessed to have such a big one. I have a sister in law who has just a handfull of family left. And Lillian had a huge family being one of 11 children but now it's just her and a sister who love miles and miles away from each other. Lillian has lost two of her three children. I feel so sorry for her. She can't even leave her room at the nursing home as one resident and one worker has Covid 19....
