ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR SUNDAY, JULY 5TH, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.
80 DAYS UNTIL FALL

Life is a special occasion!!

Today is Build a Scarecrow Day which is a day to make a scarecrow that will watch over your garden. They are relatively easy to build. All you need is some hay, a few articles of clothing a stick and a hat
You can even personalize your scarecrow by giving it pins, buttons and apparel from your favorite sports teams, schools or bands. This way if you find that the intruders in your garden aren’t frightened by it, you’ll still have a festive decoration for your garden.
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Then followed that beautiful season …Summer… filled was the air with a dreamy and magical light, and the landscape Lay as if new created in all the freshness of childhood.
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
I have a little scarecrow that I stick outside in a pot every year. He decorates my car port and keeps watch over my flowers boxes. I don’t have a garden, but sometimes something does try to eat my flowers. I’m not sure what critter likes them. Maybe a chipmunk or a sqirrel or a bird.
Some may think they are a decoration for fall, but really they are for summer gardens. It’s going to be another hot an humid day here right around 90 degrees, ao it’s going to be another good day to stay in and keep cool here. I may get into another good book or take the car out for a drive. It has air-conditioning and I’ve not had it out much since I got it and I could go visit with my sister and BIL
I didn’t get to see any fireworks here, but I sure could hear them. The neighborhood must have had some fun somewhere. The noise went on for hours once it got dark. Hopefully now it’ll start to get quieter now that the holiday is over. We’ll see
Except for the scarecrow the pictures today are from yesterday’s get together at DS#5’s house.
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS

Summer gardens need a scarecrow to watch over them.
Looks like a fun get together yesterday Ma! We had lots of fireworks in the neighborhood. The poor dog was barking a lot until he finally settled. Scarecrows can be so cutely decorated and much needed to keep birds and other critters away from gardens!

That pool looks so cool and refreshing! So glad you had a nice day with family. Our fireworks here were cancelled but same here with neighborhood fireworks late into the night. Luckily I fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow and a marching band could come through my room and I wouldn't wake up. Hubby is the opposite so the noise kept him up all night. He's jealous of my sleeping abilities lol. Have a great day and stay nice and cool and safe :)
How fun! Yes, that pool water certainly looks refreshing. Glad we no longer have one that requires maintaining (aka The Money Pit) -- but they're certainly worth it for the young (and young at heart)!
We've no garden, but making a little scarecrow and dressing it up according to the seasons sounds like fun. Happy Sunday!
