ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR SATURDAY, JULY 11TH, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a special occasion!!

Today is World Population Day which was established by the United Nations to raise awareness to the challenges we face. The goal is to get people around the world to help those that are affected by population growth. Poverty and hunger are among many social and environmental problems they face.
The best way to celebrate today would be to give donations to a local food pantry .
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Time and health are two precious assets that we don’t recognize and appreciate until they have been depleted
Denis Waitley
They say there is enough food in the world so that no one should go hungry. It’s just a matter of getting it to those that need it. In this day and age you’d think it wouldn’t be a problem, but it is. I have plenty of food here at my house and the pantry remains well stocked, so I could spare a can or two to help someone else out.
Due to having high blood pressure and now finding out that I also have high blood sugar as recent tests sorted out, I’ve had to rethink the food I eat. Sad to say I’ve always had a sweet tooth and eat too many sweet things, So hopefully I’ll now be sharing some healthier recipes. At this point the doctor has only said to be careful of what you eat.
I spent some time looking for something good and healthy to cook for the weekend, but didn’t have much luck. Hopefully I’ll get better results next time.
The pictures today are from our visits to the farm market last summer. All these things make for some good eating.
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS

8271. for a well stocked pantry
8272. for testing that sorts us out
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

To be healthy you have to eat a healthy diet.
I do hope the farmers and food brokers discover a way to feed our world! A few months ago it broke my heart to see news reports of them having to dump gallons of milk.
Your fresh veggies look sooooo good! I don't recall having eaten bell peppers in the past that much -- but in the last couple months they've been jumping into my cart every week. Because I've still so much to learn, I'm looking forward to what healthy recipes you share!
Nothing better than those fresh fruits and veggies - yum! It's been so sad seeing how much food as been destroyed during the pandemic while there are people going hungry every day. It's heart breaking. Take good care of your self Ma and listen to your doc!
Vegetables and some type of protein like chicken is always good to go with. Avoid starches like potatoes and pasta. Summer salads are great choices for healthy eating. I know schools here are giving out breakfast and lunch to any child up to age 18 Monday through Friday. I'm sure that is helping families who are struggling to provide food for their children.
