ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR WEDNESDAY, APRIL 22ND, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Earth Day which is intended to inspire awareness and appreciation for Earth’s natural environment . Earth Day was founded by U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson as an environmental teach in first held on April 22, 1970. Many people believe this first Earth day celebration marked the beginning of the modern day environmental movement.
Earth Day is now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network and is celebrated in more than 175 countries. To celebrate, plant a tree, or help clean up a beach or park. Happy Earth Day!
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Every day is Earth Day.

We used to always bring home trees to plant on earth day They’d pass them out to school children every year. We had a little hill outside the house that we planted them on and if they’d all lived we’d have a small forest growing there now. Sadly I mowed most of them down. It was very hard to mow around all those tiny saplings growing on the hill and not many of them made it.
Now I’m pleased to say I have a huge tree growing next to the house and it provides hours of pleasure for me. It keeps the house cool in the summer with all its leaves and truly is a big part of my environment. It also provides a home for the squirrels and birds that live in it. I get to enjoy them too by watching them every day.
It provides me with lots of exercise too as every spring there are plenty of branches and twigs that cover the ground that need to be cleaned up after the winter winds have had their way. And of course there is the leaf pick up that must be done every fall. Thousands of leaves litter the ground and need to be raked or mulched up before winter comes along.
I don’t mind at all since I need the exercise, but right now I’ve not yet started because it’s been so wet, you can hardly get out there without your boots sinking into the soggy ground. The grass has started to green up and grow so this is one thing I’ll have to do before I can cut the lawn. Soon I hope.
One thing is for sure, I’d appreciate it if we could dry out awhile. We’ve had plenty of Spring Showers for now. The pictures are from last year when I was finally able to get out and start on the yard work. I have this nice cart that holds brown paper leaf bags to collect the winter waste in.
I hope you have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
To see a world in a grain of sand, And a heaven in a wild flower. Hold infinity in the palm of your hand and eternity in an hour.
William Blake

8047. for exercise, it keeps me going
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU!

I'm a tree lover. And hug my tree often.
When I worked at the resort in Phoenix, our management team would plant a tree each year on Earth Day. For sure, living in the desert all those years has given me a new appreciation for the many trees around our property. It always hurts my heart a little when one has to be cut down for safety sake.
I'm hearing that in many major US cities the skies appear more blue and there's far less pollution in the air. Perhaps this virus travesty is allowing the earth to heal. I pray it will forgive us.
I hope it dries out a bit so you can get outside to do the yard work that needs to be done, Ma. Son planted some fruit trees this past month. It will be fun watching them grow!
