ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR SATURDAY, APRIL 18TH, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is International Juggler’s Day which celebrates the skill of juggling and talented jugglers. Juggling is a physical skill involving the minipultation of objects for recreation, entertainment or sport. The most recognizable form of juggling is toss juggling.
Juggling can be the manipulation of one object or many objects at the same time, using one or many hands. Jugglers often refer to the objects they juggle as props. The most common props are balls, clubs or rings. Some jugglers use more dramatic objects such as knives, fire torches or chainsaws.
Some might suggest that office workers are jugglers as they multi task and keep several balls, projects, going the same time.
To celebrate today, try your hand at juggling. You never know you might be a talented juggler.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Imagine life is a game in which you are juggling five balls. The balls called work, family, health, Friends, and integrity. And you’re keeping all of them in the air. But one day you finally come to understand that work is a rubber ball . If you drop it, it will bounce back. The other four balls…are made of glass. If you drop one of these, it will be irrevocably scuffed, nicked, perhaps even shattered.
James Patterson
For the most part the kind of juggling I do is with my schedule. I juggle things around so that I have time to do all the things I have to do. It’s pretty easy these days as there isn’t much to juggle, There is no place to go and nothing on my schedule. When I worked, it was a lot harder. I had to juggle my time so there was plenty of time to spend with family and still get the work done.
Today’s pictures are from DS#5 which shows how they are juggling the job of teaching the kids at home. Looks to me like they are doing a great job of it. Everyone looks happy!
I’ve never been much good at multi tasking. Things work out best for me when I handle one job at a time. I’ve got to keep my eye on one goal at a time. When I try to do too many things at one time, nothing seems to go the way it should. I’m not a good juggler.
Today I’m cooking up some pasta for the weekend meals. It’s something I’ve been craving.
One Pot Spaghetti and Meatballs
24 ox. Spaghetti saice
14.5 oz. diced tomatoes,, Italian seasoned
1 tsp Italia seasoning
12 oz. spaghetti noodles, uncooked
2 c. water
15 to 20 frozen maatballs
1/4 c. parmesan cheese
Combine all ingredients except the parmesan cheese in a large dutch oven or pot with a lid. Bring mixture to a boil, stirring frequently.
Reduce heat to medium low, cover and cook until pasta is tender. About 15 to 20 minutes. . Stirring occasionally . Serve with shredded parmesan Cheese on top if deisred.
I love one pot meals and this is a favorite of mine. I happened to have frozen meatballs on hand that needed to be used up.
And last by not least for today is a message I received from our Xfactor yesterday. He emails me a happy blog post every now and then which always makes me smile.

ADVICE FOR TODAY
Life is a juggling act with your own emotions. The trick is to always keep something in your hand and something in the air.

I'm not very good at juggling, I'm not a multi tasker.
Such great smiles of your grandchildren! They do look like they are thriving during this time. I liked that quote from James Patterson. Work is important but family and health are more so in the mix. Proper balance is needed indeed to keep everything in perspective. I think moms are great at multi tasking. You probably did a lot of it when your kids were at home Ma.

Yes. That Patterson quote is powerful.
During my 'work' years juggling/multi-tasking was normal -- but I never enjoyed it and I'm pretty sure it impacted my stress levels. Like you, I prefer to set projects one at a time so I might focus. I'm smiling at your mention of pasta, because Tom came back from the grocery the other day with 3 big jars of spaghetti sauce and pasta. He likes to make a big batch and freeze in individual containers. Happy Saturday!
Love all the pictures of the kids!! Great to see smiles right now. I have ADD, so doing a lot of things at once is normal for me, but I never seem to get a whole lot accomplished!! I could be considered to be a juggler of sorts...just not a very good one.
Have a wonderful weekend.
