ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR FRIDAY, APRIL 17TH, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.
64 DAYS UNTIL SUMMER
Sunrise: 6:44 am
Sunset: 8:11 pm
Life is a special occasion!!
Hallmark
Today is Blah, Blah, Blah Day which celebrates the impulse to get the things done which people have been nagging you to do. Blah, Blah Blah Day is a chance to lose weight, vacuum the car, and so on. It concerns all those uncomfortable topics you just cannot stand anymore to deal with. There are some things people never get tired of reminding you to do.
The only way to stop them annoying you to take Blah, Blah, Blah Day as a kickoff moment to get things done. Mute the Blah, Blah, Blah by eliminating the topic that it is about. It’s a day to do all those things that other people have been nagging you about.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
When people nag us, we instantly resist, but when the facts force us in that same direction we instantly adapt.
Paul Fleischman
Other than me myself and I, no one really nags me about doing much at all any more. When there is no one around to complain that I haven’t done much, it’s up to me to get my self in the grove and get things done.
Truly I haven’t been doing much at all around here. No one comes, no one goes so I have little motivation to get things done. Most people I know have been busy, sewing face masks or getting their spring cleaning done. I’m procrastinating and I know I’ll regret it when the nice wether comes and I’ll be the one that still has to stay inside and get their cleaning done.
The only thing I’ve been doing that’s of much good at all is to get out walking when the weather’s been nice. Trouble with that is there has not been much nice weather. Yesterday we woke up to snow on the ground and today we’re supposed to get more. On the bright side the weather is to be warmer on the weekend. I’ve promised my self a nice long walk then. If you don’t use it, you lose it and I’m determined not to lose it and keep walking as long as I can.
I used to be a nagger. I’d nag DDH to do things and the kids to clean up their rooms, but little good that ever did me. Nagging isn’t the way to go. More than not they did things when they felt like it.
So today remember all those things your mother used to nag you about and get things done. The pictures today are of DD and family. They’ve enjoyed plenty of picturesque hikes even though it’s been cold, they just bundle up.
My own dear sweet mother used to nag me to sit up straight and suck my belly in. She was never happy with the way I looked. Even when I was thin, she thought me too fat. Not a good way to live at all. For some reason she thought it was important to be slim. But that was one thing I never was.
To this day I’m pleased with who I am and what I have. That is a much better way to live in my books.
Today I’ll be keeping in and staying warm and cozy I still have a few more books I’d like to get read.
I hope you have a FANTASTIC Friday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
The more your praise and celebrate your life , the more there is in life to celebrate.
Oprah Winfrey
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
8030. for a day to get things done
8031. for cold days that make us appreciate the warm days
8032. for a nice safe place to go for a walk when the weather cooperates
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

If something is nagging you, it's best to pay attention.
I'm sorry to hear about your mother's disappointment in the way you looked. That must have felt burdensome, but I'm so glad to hear it didn't affect your own self worth. (Applauding down here.) On the flip side, I'm my own worst enemy.
ANYway! I'm smiling, imagining Tom heard about this being blah-blah-blah day. He's been outside tearing up pavers and blasting roots. I ventured out a little while ago only to get wet and muddy all over my fresh clothes. Methinks I may have been best-suited for apartment living. LOL!
HAPPY FRIDAY!
I gave up nagging about the kids' rooms as it didn't seem to do too much good but then I wouldn't help them find anything in there if the room was messy. They eventually worked out a routine that they could keep their rooms how they wanted them and keep track of what needed to be kept track of. That was sad about your mom not happy with you not being slim. It was good you were willing to accept yourself with your looks and not let it get you down too much.
Good for your daughter and her family getting out in any type of weather. I used to do the same when we lived in Montana. Get the kids out as much as possible to enjoy some fresh air, even if it was cold fresh air!
