ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR TUESDAY, APRIL 7TH, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Happy Birthday to you♥
Today is also No Housework Day which absolutely insists that you put down the sponge and cleaning supplies and just relax. On study found that the average American woman does 17 hours per week. After a long day at work or school, housework is the last thing anyone wants to come home to. Doctors and health experts say that it is essential for people with busy life styles to factor time to relax. Relaxation can lower heart rate and blood pressure, reduce headaches and improve concentration.
Celebrate today by ignoring the dirty dishes in the sink and the piles of laundry that need to be done and just relax. You deserve it !
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
How beautiful it is to do nothing, and then to rest afterward.
Spanish Proverb
This grandson’s birthday is another of my long distance celebrations . Matter of fact he lives further way than any of my other grandchildren. But as usual a card will be sent out with my love and birthday wishes. I don’t even have any new pictures to show today. I’m using the same ones I’ve had for awhile. He is in college now and growing up to be a very handsome young man. He and his sister have always been very close so many of the pictures I have of him include her too. He had a great love of dinosaurs when he was young and that is why I call him my Dino boy.
I think as important as it is to have a plan for doing work, It is perhaps more important to have a plan for rest and relaxation. Here we are in another week of sheltering at home. It’s really the safest place we can be so it’s best we stay put. I’m doing ok as there is always plenty to do around here, if only I’d get up and do it. I’m being lazy for the most part, but soon that will get old and I’ll get with it. One can only read so many books, but I do enjoy all I’ve read so far. Right now i have several new ones on my bookshelf including one by Daniel Steele, three by Benda Novalk, one by Fern Michaels, and for variety one by James Patterson called The Inn. I borrowed them on line from the Library.
. I haven’t been watching anything, but the news on TV. There hasn’t been anything on TV that has been of any interest to me in quite awhile. This week DDIl#5 has been doing my shopping and my son has been delivering it, so I’ve yet to have any reason to go out.
Today is Taco Tuesday and I’ve come up with another good Taco dish and a new recipe to share. It seems they are endless.
TACOS ON A STICK
1 envelope taco seasoning
1 cup tomato juice
2 tbsp oil
2 lbs beef top sirloin steak cut into one inch cubes
1 green pepper cut into chunks
1 red pepper cut into chunks
1 onion cut into wedges
16 cherry tomatoes
Salsa or sour cream optional
In a large shallow dish, combine taco seasoning, tomato juice and oil. Mix well. Remove 1/2 c. fur basting, refrigerate. Add beef and turn to coat. Cover and refrigerate at least 5 hours.
Drain and discard marinade from beef. On metal or soaked wooden skewers, alternately thread beef, peppers onions and tomatoes. Grill, uncovered, over medium heat for 3 minutes on each side. Baste with reserved marinade. Continue turning and basting for 10 minutes or until meat reaches desired doneness. If desired serve with salsa or sour cream.
Makes 6 servings.
I used beef cubes I’d had made from a sirloin tip roast I’d purchased on sale awhile back and had on hand in the freezer. Little by little I’m using up what I have in the freezer. It’ needs cleaning out. I didn’t have any peppers or tomatoes so I used mushrooms instead. It’s the taco seasoning that makes the difference.
I hope you have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
The ability to relax and be mindfully present in the moment comes naturally when we are grateful
Louise Hay
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
8000. for tacos, anyway you fix them is good
8001.for making do with what I have
8002.for a full freezer, and well stocked panty cupboard
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Happy ☺ Birthday 🎂
Happy Birthday to Dino Boy! Handsome young man! Amazing so many of your grandchildren are now in college Ma! But what interesting times to be any type of student now! That recipe looks delicious. I think we are doing take out tonight from one of two Mexican restaurants here. We try to do that twice a week to help the local businesses. I did clean the bathrooms and am doing laundry today. Maybe I should have read your post today before I did it :)

Wishing your Dino a very Happy Birthday! Like Betty said, your grands are all so good looking! Wow. Isn't he the spitting image of his dad.
We both love tacos and this recipe looks like a fun twist. Already it's becoming too warm to justify turning on the oven so Tom's begun using his grill. I need to take a page from you and begin using up what we have on hand. Another of my blog friends recently shared, she and her hubby are going to a First Sunday pot-luck supper -- at their kitchen table, cleaning out left-overs. :)
